A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

I understand your frustration. Try removing the batteries and then put them back again and see if that will fix your problem. If it doesn't fix it, return it back where you bought it and ask for a replacement.

The touch screen no longer works on my grandsons' 5-month old leapster. Does the warranty cover that?

Likely, yes. call leapfrog, and ask. However, most warranties do not cover abuse or accidents. If your grandson did something or dropped it, the warranty will not cover that.

My 4 year old got a Leapster 2 for Xmas from his aunt in the US unfortunately the box with the battery and start up cd went out with the wrapping. How can I get another battery pack and installation CD??...

My suggestion would be to purchase the rechargeable battery package. ($25 -35) I know the initial investment may be steep but it is well work the investment. Batteries are expensive and if your child uses it over the next 4 years you have saved a lot more! Besides, you won't have to hassle with calling leap frog and asking for a replacement part that still will probably cost you money! We got ours at Target and they do periodically go on sale. If you go to and go to the "download leapfrog connect" under the "support" tab, you can download the cd that came with your game system. To hook your leapster to the computer, any USB cable will work. You could temporarily use the one from your printer or other auxillary device. If you want to, you can purchase one relatively inexpensively from a Staples, Office Depot or Best Buy. Now you should be ready to go! Hope this helps.

Every time my son tries to play the cartridge game that he got with the Leapster for xmas the Leapster reboots.

clean the cartrdige pins with a lint free cloth (baby-wipe) soaked in rubbing alcohol. This worked on 7 cartridges that were doing the same thing

Leapster screen not responding to the stick

If you don't see any X's then you have to clean the screen very well with some Windex and dry it well. Take any crumbs out of the screen edges and then "milk" the screen with the thumb gently. What happens is that the digitizer gets pressure areas built up so you want to dislodge it. You might need 3-4 "milking" tries. By milking I mean pressing on the screen with the thumb (gently) till you see the screen "bleed."

Also after this align the screen.
