Common causes
door gasket damaged(torn)
Dispenser fault
Lint filter door not fully closed
It sounds like you might have a damaged outer bowl, broken by a foreign object(coin, wire, screw). Costly repair.

SOURCE: My GE front load washer

We believe a shirt sleeve was not fully in our GE GCVH6260 front loading washer. With the twisting and turning the shirt pulled our rubber door seal into the washer, stretching the seal. The rubber door seal is formally called a; "front door boot gasket". (image of washer type linked below)

http://di1.shopping.com/images1/pi/e8/78/fb/28130826-177x150-0-0.jpg

We contacted our local GE store and picked up the replacement boot gasket (part# WH08X10036), which cost about $155 plus tax CDN.

Please Note; I did not remove the front face of the washer..
1. I cut away the old rubber ring as I did not have the "carny hands" needed to loosen the inner ring nut and bolt.
2. I then used a mini hack saw to cut the screw in half (careful not to cut anything else).
3. Once the old rings were removed, I filled the bath tub / laundry tub up with very hot water and submierged the new boot gasket into the water for five minutes.
4. Once heated, I quickly lined up the ring to the proper positioning and was able to put the ring on the washer with little effort.
5. As the ring cooled in place, I put the inner metal ring back into the appropriate groove. As I could not reach in an put a proper nut and bolt into place, I opted to use two thick zip ties to hold the ring in place, pulling it tighter with my pliers on the end and snipping the excess legging off after.
6. The outer ring was relatively easy to put on afterwards.

Special thanks to my pops, Warren McDonald for his great advise on heating the ring to put it in place!

SOURCE: lg front load washer leaking from bottom of machine

I just fixed this problem - there is a rubber hose that hooks the bottom of the drum to the drain and recycle pumps - it is ribbed and it developed a hole. To confirm and repair (repair can be done from the front of the machine)

  1. Unplug the machine.
  2. Drain whatever water you can from the machine using the stoppered hose behind the bottom left panel
  3. Unscrew the visible screw holding the plastic in place near the drain hose and filter
  4. If you can pull the plastic recessed piece out, there is one screw visible behind it - unswcrew this. If you cannot pull it out now, you should be able to get it after you remove the screws in step 10
  5. Pull out the detergent drawer (push in the middle back "botton" to release the drawer to pull out fully)
  6. Unscrew two screws in the drawer area.
  7. Pull the top of the electronics assembly away from the machine and lift the assembly out (place on top of the machine or hook it out of the way)
  8. Open the door and remove the spring loaded wire around the door seal (be careful as the seal can be torn)
  9. Pull the seal away from the metal front panel, then close the door
  10. Remove four screws at the top of the front panel (that were behind the eletronics assembly) - If you already have removed the screw from step 4, proceed, otherwise lean the top of front panel out and pop the plastic out, hold panel in place and remove that bottom screw from step 4.
  11. Lift front panel about two inches, swing the entire front panel to the right and set against something - You should now be able to see inside the machine.
  12. There is a black hose right in the middle - when I squeezed mine a little, I could see where the water was dripping out from the bottom.
  13. There are three clamps - two that can be squeezed with pliers and removed, one that has to be unscrewed (phillips head screw - it is a bit blind as the screw faces the back of the machine) - Once I got mine off - I could see the hole.
  14. Order replacement and reassmble in the opposite order

SOURCE: LG front load washer -- water leaks

First, clean off the bottom of the door glass where it contacts the gray tub gasket when the door closes. Any hair or other build up can result in leakage. Second, if that does not completely solve your leak, you can move the location of the spring which holds the tub gasket from the very bottom (6 O'clock position) to the hinge area (9 O'clock position). Third: Sometimes, the reason you get a leak is due to the installation. If the washer was pushed into place by applying pressure in the center front of the washer, the outer front panel can be slightly deformed (inwerd) resulting in leakage from the door. If that is the case, sometimes you can remove the outer clamp and outer part of the gray seal and pull out on the front panel to correct the situation if it is not too severe, rather than replacing the entire front panel.

SOURCE: My whirlpool front loader washer leaks water

Check the rubber boot just inside the door. You have to push the drum back slightly and rub your fingers around the entire boot. I had a similar problem and a key had fallen out of a pocket and cut into that boot. The leak would run out of the damaged boot then come out the bottom onto the floor. I purchased a new boot and it took me about 30 min to install it. The problem was solved. If the rubber boot is fine then the over soap thing is probably your problem.

First check is the standpipe drain. The hose that comes from washer should not be inserted more than 4". More than that can cause a syphoning situation that can cause leaks from beneath. If that seems okay you will have to see where water is coming from by observing the machine in action with back or bottom service panel removed (if it has one.)

Leak. My wife noticed water leaking out bottom of washer

Try cleaning the drain plug. I did this in about 5 minutes and was amazed at how much debris was clogging up the drain. Mine was accessible by removing two screws at the bottom of washer and removing panel. Drain plug was right there and easy to unscrew. Be sure to have a cookie sheet or other pan to catch the water that will flow out. Once that drain is clear, thumping should stop because water can flow down the drain easily.

Whirlpool fron load Duet washer leaks

Check the easy stuff first, fill hoses tight?- drain hose cracked? Failing those checks, cut a piece of cardboard slightly smaller than the size of your washer. Slip the cardboard under the washer and run a short load. Look carefully at the water mark on the cardboard. The mark on the cardboard the water leak will leave, will help you tell from which side or front to back the leak is common from. This will help point you in the correct direction to look for the trouble maker.

thanks.
