Question about LG Art Cool LA091CNP Split System Air Conditioner

Open Question

I bought a brand new LG L1210ER Window/Wall Unit air conditioner a couple days ago. After installing the unit in the wall and properly insulating the perimeter gap around the unit I turned on the equipment. Immediately the unit starts to cool, however after 10 minutes of use it turns itself off (even the electronic display goes off) for a total of 5 seconds, yes seconds. It then turns itself on again and works fine for another 10 minutes and then shuts itself off again. This goes on for ever, in any temperature setting, fan speed, or mode, except for "economy mode" where it turns itself off for 5 minutes. In economy mode when it turns itself off the display remains lit. I don't think this unit is working properly. I called the LG tech support and the guy was stumped. He suggested I return the unit but PC Richards was not very receptive when I described my problem over the phone. I rather not haul this heavy unit around if I don't have to.

SOURCE: Air Unit turns on...compressor works, fan turns on and then shuts off?

Half of them acs come out the box distressed. LG stands for Lot of Grief. Get a refund and buy american texas made stuff like fedders or freidrich. Stop puchasing that worthless **** nobody has parts for.
What you need to do before you buy a product is see who fixes it how much it will cost and are parts available? These crappy units are fresh off of a container ship from a country that has no manufacturing standards whatsoever and does not intend to get any.

SOURCE: Air Conditioner just stopped working

verify that the fan is free to spin and not binded, window units are bad for this due to close tolerances in the small cases

Have you checked to see if drains are at back, and unit requires a slight tilt down and out the window?

Lg air conditioner keeps goin on and off, heat outside is 113 degrees is this affecting it

It very well could. Particularly, if the humidity is high and the AC unit is in direct sun light for 6 hours or more per day. If that's the case and it's either a window or thru the wall unit. Installing an awning over it will help.

I have an LG Model LWHD1209R window air unit in a opening of the wall. The outside of the air conditioner is in an open brick wall. The inside of the unit is in a class room. The air conditioning unit...

It's called a condensation tray (depending on what part of the world you're in). Generally, they are a custom made add on. If you have one made, have the metal shop put a drain hole near the rear of the tray/pan, that has a short section of copper pipe attached to it. That way, you can connect a hose to it to drain the water to the ground (if feasible). If not, at least away from the window frame.

Hope this helps you solve the problem.

My LG air conditioner is rattling. It is brand new out of the box today. Can anyone help?

Many things can cause this, blower out of balance, loose compressor mounts, (did the instructions specify removing a shipping bolt?) sometimes units are shipped with a bolt to hold the compressor down that has to be removed. If not, I would return it where I bought it..

Fan in our Sharp "Comfort Touch thru-wall a/c stopped

Unless the Unit can be cleaned ( you claim it cools?) but not enough. The age of the Unit is not in you Question, the amount of time you got for 100 bucks is pretty good being you purchased a USED UNIT. With the type of use you claim Running 24/7 and about 5 months of cooling - I'd say you never cleaned the Unit from day one - that might cost you about 100 bucks if the unit can be done in the yard by a serviceman. Chemicals can hurt the Unit if not done properly ( and yourself). It sounds to me like you use it for a Business - if so you can purchase one and write it off .

Can the LG Electronis LWHD1500ER air conditioner be installed through the wall, what wall thickness max., and is there a sleeve to assist in doing so.

I don't believe that this unit can be mounted in a through the wall application. My database does not show a wall sleeve for this unit. The biggest reason will be the side vents for the condenser heat exhaust. I would stick to the manufacturer suggested window application.

Is this the right unit? Can it be used with a sleeve?

If a sleeve came with it then it should be used unless you are replacing a unit and the existing sleeve is properly mounted. Then sleeve should have a slight backward angle so that condensation does not drain into the living space.

Window to wall unit?

No, actually switching from window to wall is easier that vise versa. I don't know your can size versus the hole in the wall but you may have to enlarge it if its bigger or fill in the space with some wood trim on the outside and some molding or sheetrock on the inside. some insulation wont hurt either . the expandable foam is good for the wall space. Caulking for the cracks. pretty basic stuff. A good way to mount it is to slide the louvered can out and screw it to the wall, then its nice and secure. Unless its a very large and heavy unit, you shouldn't need any support struts on the bottom.
