This is a new Samsung LCD model SnncMaster 953BW attached to a Gateway GT4016 personal desktop computer. The computer was bought at the store not quite three years ago. The Samsung monitor was bought at the store about 9 months ago.

First connect the monitor to another computer to see if the monitor is faulty.
If the monitor is faulty and less than 12 months old and may be still under warranty.
If so I would get it repaired under warranry, if you try to repair it yourself then you could void your warranty.

LCD or CRT type monitor?
If it is LCD:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Checked connections, all good. Tested with another Winplus monitor, it works . The car battery was changed since then monitor has no picture but power button is on (blue). Menus not working either??????

If another monitor works in place, it sounds like you've found the culprit. If the other monitor works completely normally, and you aren't even seeing menus on that monitor, AND the power button is blue (which normally indicates powered and in use), it sounds like the back light or some internal connection on that monitor is bad. Hope that helps and good luck!

No picture or anything, but is getting power.

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they might be faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electical extensions

even something as small as an electrical fan and its lead can cause you problems or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs all electrical power and data to continue through every working device and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

make sure your graphics card is securely seated with no dust built up or in the socket

if you remove your graphics check the socket to make sure its dust free

restart your computer then reinstall it this should activate found new hardware wizard

hope this helps you

The power supply works and I get a green light that my connection is being received but I get no picture! I can see the picture for the first 1/2 a second when I turn on the monitor but then it goes blank....

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive
Test the leads that attach to your ((hard drive from the motherboard)) or replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your ((motherboard to hard drive))
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

hope this helps

No pic on monitor

Hello,

Check all the connections to the monitor, ensure they are all intact, replace any cable suspected to be damage and see if there is difference, if no difference, this indicate that the picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

Picture Freezing on Flat Screen TV

The symptoms you describe are indicative of a weak signal. If all your connections and cables are in good order, then you may need to either adjust your aerial or place a booster into the system.
If you have had no problems up until recently, it would suggest to me that something has changed to cause this. The normal problems are corroded connections at the aerial, or the aerial has rotated due to wind etc.
If you choose to put a booster into the aerial system, put it as near to the aerial as possible.
If you already have a booster in place, is it working?

Zahc
