Question about Toshiba 57H82 57" Rear Projection Television
I have a TOSHIBA 57H82 57" PROJECTION TV with a problem. It takes it about 15 minutes now to "warm-up." During this 15 minutes the picture is very blurry, but the picture becomes fine after it "warms up." What's wrong with thing? Can it be fixed? Would it be as simple as replacing one of the circuit boards? I have access to a working power board for this model, but am unsure if it will help. Any help would be appreciated!
This is a model first sold 2002.
They have a history of the Hyper board failing. Usually noise or lines in the picture and the warmup time gradually gets longer and longer.
This board processes all signal from all inputs inside the set and is no longer available from Toshiba.
The only way to get one is from a national company called PTS Electronics who rebuilds or repairs them--cost for rebuilt board is about 220 plus shipping and part number for this model is:
I have a service bulletin with photos of the board on my computer.
It is a financial decision, not a job for the average do it yourself person to attempt.
Let me know if you have questions or need help.
