Dryer will heat up then shut off

Most likely it's getting to hot, check your vent and the outside vent hood make sure you have proper air flow. Turn on the dryer check the vent exit to make sure you feel hot air coming out. Take the vent off and check the back of the dryer for air flow. If you have air flow and the unit is still over heating you may need to replace the operating Thermostat. Could tell you more with a good model number should be inside the door.

Takes to long to dry clothes

after checking and replacing the vent going outside still the air was not venting and inside my drier everything was wet although the air was hot. After removing the rear panel i saw the blower belt disconnected. it took me some time to get the belt on but everything is ok and the air is venting and clothes getting dried. Also note that the little pulley came off its positio too.

My dryer is getting so hot that it is shutting itself off mid cycle. I can restart but it only runs a short time....gets really hot and shuts off again!!

Check your entire vent tubing from the outside vent to the line coming out of the back of the dryer.
Overheating indicates low air discharge flow. The air in the dryer must move out quickly so the heat doesn't build up too much.
Try that & post back.

Dryer is hot and running the clothes don't get dry

Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.

Doesnt dry very well. takes about two days for clothes to dry completely.

If your drier is getting warm. You need to check the vent hose and the vent to the outside for a restriction. If the vent hose is stopped up, she will not dry proper, the hot moist air can not get out of the drum and just keeps it all inside. Now if is not getting hot, you have an electrical problem with the heater coils, that may take a tech. to come out and fix for you. Hope this helps Fix ya up.

My dryer runs and gets hot but takes 2 or 3 cycles to dry .

Please check your exhaust line fron the lint filter to the outside vent. When I say check, what I mean is take the machine away from the wall remove the hose and vaccum out the drier outlet --- use the crevice tool. When you are done with this, put a nylon over the end of the outlet and turn the drier on. You should have a good amount of air coming out. There will probably be lint - the reason for the nylon is to catch it. If not - do it again. (use the air setting) ... do the same with the hose. If you have access to the other end, disconnect it as well .. check that the door on your outside vent is not stuck shut. If you have a plastic hose, please replace it with a flexible metal hose.

I hope this helps you

Dryer not drying

try taking a flashlight and look over the back of the drier see if the vent got mashed or is all coled up and stuff let me know also you can remove the vent from the back of the drier and run 1 load to see if it works normal if so then you know the vents the culprit.

Kenmore dryer

this promblem is about always a vent promblem or not cleaning the drier filter if your using the plastic vent check if its mashed behind the drier you must have 4inch of vent all the way throuch if its mashed or folded over its cut down to 2inches if it hangs under your house then comes up to the outside vent housing it can fill with water if the outside hood door isnt oping that will do it too its in your vent some where what i tell cust to do is run 4inch pvc from out side hood up through floor then run short metel vent to pvg attach with clamp to confirm vent restriction take vent loose for one load and see if it dries in right amount of time
