The reason it says connect a device is because your device is not been recognize by windows properly..

What i would recommend you to do is to uninstall the device and reinstall it back...tou uninstall it...assuming that you are running windows xpmedia converter - 1.gif...click on start, right click on my computer and go to properties..you should have your system1.gif properties open then click under hardware1.gif then device manager...look for the sansa device..it usually located under portable device..if its not showing there i would recommend you to look for under disk drives and see if its there..right click on the device and click on uninstall...after you unintall it unplug your device from the computer and check to usb mode..it has to be under MTP mode or auto....after you check the mode open up your windows media1.gif player click on tools, options and click under privacy...clear the history4.gif and caches...after you finish you can plug the device on the back of the computer not the front then windows should recongnize it and it should work properly..if that doesnt solve the problems upgrade your windows media player to 11 even though you have done that already..Follow the link below to obtain the driver for your device..Select your device model and operating system1.gif.....

Cannot delete the songs on mp3

I do mine through Windows Media Player
1)Plug in Sansa
2)Open up Windows Media Player and wait for the Sansa e250 icon to show up under the library. First time, might say 'What device is this' or 'Autoplay'-for autoplay, you click 'sync media files to Sansa e250 using WIndows Media Player'
3)When library shows, click 'Sync' if it is not already there.
4)Just simply click and drag the songs you want from the computer library to the list pane on the side.
5)Once your done, click 'Sart sync'

TO DELETE
1)Plug in
2)Wait for the icon under Library in WIndows Media Player
3)Go to Songs under Sansa e250
4)Right click desired songs and choose Delete. You only want to delete from Sansa e250-nothing else

My sansa e250's USB port dos not shows up on MY COMPUTER/ON DRIVE :F and when i...

One of the typical problems people run into with MP3 players is that they lose the software that came with the player and can't figure out how to get music on or off the player. So here's a quick how to. This will work with most brands of MP3 players, or even USB flash drives.

First you need to plug it in to the USB port, if you are running anything newer than windows 98 you won't need a driver. Double click on my computer and it shows up as a removable disc(usually drive letter f:), double click this drive to open it as folder. This folder will show you all directory's and files on your player, here you can delete any songs on your player by finding the file and deleteing it. From here you can also put your music onto the player by copying and pasting your music files from your hard drive. If you are not sure where your music is located you can run a search by clicking START>SEARCH>FOR FILES OR FOLDERS (if you are running XP click pictures music or video, check music then click search, each file will have it's location in small print below it's name, or you can right click each song and hit copy, then go back to f: drive and right click and hit paste, you can copy more than one). Hope this helps.

Why won't my Sansa Media Converter recognize my Sansa e250 Mp3 player?

Mine won't read it in MTP mode. It works for me in MSC mode though.

Putting vidoes and pictures on my sansa E250

I have a Sansa e250 also.

Once the Media Converter is downloaded and installed on your computer, open it, plug your Sansa into the computer1.gif by USB5.gif cable, click "Add media". Then you should see a window that says "Add media" Select the media you want to put on your Sansa. Once the media is added, then click "Convert". After it is finished converting, it should be on your Sansa. Hope that helps!

Device not connected

The Sansa Media Converter will only detect the device in MSC mode, or Plays For Sure (e250R) mode.

Change the mode in the Settings>MODE or USB MODE on the device and re-connect.

Best of Luck,

I'm not an expert, but I do have a Sansa e250, too. Sounds like you need to download a Sansa Media Converter.

Here's the link: http://www.sandisk.com/driverdownload/download.asp?driverId=184

Once that is downloaded and installed, open it, plug your Sansa into the computer by USB cable, click "Add media". Then you should see a window that says "Add media" Select the media you want to put on your Sansa. Once the media is added, then click "Convert". After it is finished converting, it should be on your Sansa. Hope that helps!
