If there is a bolt to loosen under the dispenser remove it and see if you can pull up the entire agiator. If so, the drive hub is the problem and needs replacement.

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SBT Top Load Washer won't aggitate

My Whirlpool WTW6600 had the same problem. The tub no longer floated up and down on the center shaft, so it only spun, not agitated. You must remove the tub (with some effort) and lightly sand / clean the center shaft. Lube it lightly with wheel bearing grease so that after it is reassembled, you can pull the tub upward and feel about 1/2" movement. This will enable the proper gear assembly to engage. It can spin when it rests at the bottom of its travel, but once you fill the tub, it floats, moving upward, and engaging the agitation gear. Good Luck!

Washer fills with water but will not drain and the aggitator is not moving either. Could the problem be a bad or stuck aggitator?

When the machine is ready to drain get the hose in the back and put it down either out the window or in the tub what ever is closer and the water runs out on its own

Washer doesn't spin GE WCSR2090

does it aggitate??

the safety button is most likely broken, you can see the small hole where the figer pushes down to stop the spin cycle, if the washer does not aggitate, then most likely it the safety switch.
get it replace, or bypass(not adviseable) but only when you need it,
Water that doesnt move tend to get stinky fast!

Will not agitate 110 92587210 Kenmore Washer

I have 2 words for you: "dog ears".

the dog aggitation ears are what cause the aggitator to aggitate. Those things wear down and not grab after time.

Pretty easy to change out. You just need to pull the aggitator out and change the 4 little plastic ears. Good luck :)

Kenmore 20842 won't spin or aggitate

Check your motor drive coupler. Tilt washer back against wall and look between motor and transmission . You will see a rubber grommet and two plastic couplers on each end of rubber , They may appear broken or you will see rubber shavings under washer.

My aggitator wont stay down to wash clothes we have to hold it to work

There is a 1/4 inch hex head bolt on the side of the agitatot that has loosened. Tighten it.It is just above the lower agitator vanes.

Whirlpool Calypso Topload washer Won't aggitate correctly

Possibly a belt issue take the top cover off of the agitator and remove the bolt that holds it down. There will be gears inside if any of these parts are broken this will also cause it not to agitate. Let me know

Aggitator is lose small items (socks) fall down behind aggitator

When the wash plate is loose (can be lifted up and down) it means that your washer needs a u-joint kit. Yes, Whirlpool actually came out with an entire kit for this.

Tightening the bolts (actually there are 6 of them) won't fix your problem. The kit number is 285927. There's an instruction sheet included with it.

After you get the kit and are ready to install it, remove the white plastic dome by inserting a flat screwdriver into the 4 small slots (look closely and you'll see them) and lifting up at the same time.

*Beware... this is a MAJOR job. Be prepared to spend a long time on it. You'll need to lift the top panel, remove the balance ring, remove the wash plate, remove the drive block nut (<---sometimes requires a torch), etc... It may not be something you wanna jump into. Call an appliance repair outfit and ask them what they'd charge to install one if you ordered the part.
