2008 jeep patroit blown head gasket cost

that depends on why, damage is as you find it, on dismantle.
just a gasket, is what $35 for the gasket and then labor.
both vary by country or town. (google costs of labor)
my guess 4 hours, 2 off, 2on. and about $400
no bad found like overheated warpped head, or freeze damageg.
you running 50% antifreeze,no? then the whole engine can be a total loss. (just did one)

and pressure tests. if not done, all above can be just for nothing....

Cost blown head gasket so i took my 2003 saturn l300 to the mechanic because the car wasn't getting any heat he had it for over a week & he finally told me that the head gasket may be blown & thet...

Take it to another mechanic. He's full of it. If your heater doesn't work the problem isn't with a head gasket. The thermostat on the engine could be stuck open or the heater core may have a restriction in it. If your head gasket was blown, your engine would be overheating and coolant would be dripping out the exhaust pipe along with a white steam cloud that smells like antifreeze

How do i replace a blown headgasket

To replace a blown head gasket requires a lot of labor on this vehicle. Its a v6, meaning you have 2 head gaskets to replace instead of just 1. It requires removing air cleaner, disconnecting battery, removing most of the accessories that are belt driven, removing the intake manifold, egr valve and tubing, exhaust manifold on both sides of engine, timing belt removal, valve covers, and a few smaller items. After removing everything on top of the engine, you'll have access to the cylinder head bolts. Removing them will allow you to lift off the cylinder heads. Before replacing the gaskets, you must send them to a machine shop to have the gasket surface milled true flat again. They must also be inspected for cracks (which will sometimes happen with blown head gaskets) which would render them useless.
If this is a vehicle you really like, perhaps consider investing in a quality used motor. Its less labor intensive, less repeat repair, and you may come out saving a few bucks.

How much does it cost to fix a blown head gasket??

Labor prices can vary. But you are looking at 5 hours of labor , some gaskets ,oil ,filter, antifreeze and machine shop labor to plane the head. 500 to 700 is reasonable.

Head gasket blown. What is approximate cost to

    Considerations
  1. Many internal engine problems, such as a blown head gasket, cracked head or cracked piston, can be repaired without having to replace an entire engine.
  2. Potential
  3. While taking the time to replace an engine may seem labor-intensive and costly, it will add years to a vehicle's life and will save a car owner from the cost of having to buy a new car.
  4. Benefits
  5. Taking a car to a mechanic and replacing an engine with a used engine can cost between $1,000 to $2,000 for parts and labor.
  6. Solution
  7. Car owners interested in replacing their engines with new ones can expect to pay anywhere between $2,000 to $4,000.
  8. Speculation
  9. For those interested in doing the engine replacement themselves, purchasing specialized tools needed for the job is a cost to consider in addition to the price of a replacement engine.
