  1. Step 1 Turn on the iPod or access the main menu. Scan down the menu listings for "Settings." Use the click wheel to highlight "Settings." This will pull up a side-bar menu of options for the iPod.
  2. Step 2 Pick "Date & Time" from the list of options on the side-bar menu. Once again you will be given a list of options. Highlight "Set Date & Time" using the click wheel and then select it using the center button.
  3. Step 3 Use the click wheel to change the current minutes setting. When you are finished, press the center button to move on to the hours setting.
  4. Step 4 Use the click wheel to change the current hours setting. As before, use the center button when you are finished. You have set the time on your iPod.

I am afraid that this error normally points to a drive failure. You may need to get a new hard disk from Dell.

I get the error code 2000-0146 only when i run the f12 diagnostic

The 2000-0146 error code indicates a read/write failure of the hard drive. There is at least 1 sector that is failing on the drive. While it is working at the moment, the drive is failing and will over time degrade and eventually fail completely. Backup any important data, then replace the drive.
