Keeps shutting down even when i troubleshoot n remove harddisk

try with a different SMPS to begin with if still faces issue clean the dust accumalated between cpu fan and heatsink as some motherboard automatically cuts off power when temperature of processer exceeds certain level. if still faces issue remove the ram chip and power it on without the same and see if you can see cpu fan staying on for quite a while if yes ram may be the cause please note as ram is not connected you will not see any display but this process is used for testing. if nothing works try to unplug the 2 small power switch connectors that connect the power switch on the ATX cabinet and the atx power pins on the motherboard and then short the power switch pins on the motherboard with a insulated screwdriver to power it up and see if it stays on, if yes the power switch is causing the issue. please reply with results.

I got a used shuttle and i don't know the password and im trying to restore it it don't have a disk drive how can i clear it

If there's no harddisk present, it means you need a password at hardware (BIOS) level, immediately at boot-up.
The former owner should have provided this pwd to you. However, there's a work-around.
1) Disconnect powercable
2) Open casing
3) Locate the CMOS-battery (it's a 3V CR2032 battery)
4) Remove this battery from it's socket / holder
5) Get a 100 Ohm resistor
6) Connect both pins of resistor to the connectors of the batterysocket / holder. Hold this resistor for about 2 hours.
7) Insert battery back again
8) Close casing, connect powercable and turn on PC.

Computer wont turn on

First open cpu cabinet then pull cmos cell from motherbord for 10 minutes.
Refix RAM memory.
Reattch ATX power connector to motherbord.
Reattch power cable and SATA or ide cable to harddisk.
Clean dust from all parts of motherbord.
Open processor fan and processor.
Then reattch both.
Make sure motherbord is not ground with cabinet.
When you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key then enter in bios .
Make sure in bios your harddisk is detected.
If not then change SATA or IDE cable of harddisk.
Then check .Go to boot menu nof bios then set first boot device as your harddisk. Then save settings and exit.
Let me know if you need further assistance.Thanks.

Amd phenom faulty

Replace cpu fan , failed cpu fan might have caused CPU stoped working. If you are sure about the CPU fails then replace the CPU. If the problem seems continues after that too, then PC might have failed to boot due to other reasons. What shows on the screen once you power on the computer? There could be , motherboard , or harddisk faults too. Try unplugging other parts and see if the computer boots from CD or USD flash or floppy drive!! Once you know that motherboard works then replace the CPU. There could be BIOS setup problem. Did you check the BIOS for harddisk is set properly.

???HARD DRIVE CRASH??? ON DESKTOP EMACHINE

hi!
we'll do some basic troubleshooting here!
okay, try to relax dont panic stay calm and stay focus we'll do it step by step.
1. open your CPU (be sure to unplug it and loose it from any power connections)
2. check the wirings of your harddisk, see to it that its not loosen, just press firmly to be sure its intacted
3. just let it open, put on all the connections (keyboard, mouse monitor) and then the AC supply
4. turn it on, while its booting, press del key to enter CMOS setup
5. configure your CMOS. If your hard disk is in SATA connection you have to enable it but if its ATA then run the automatic HDD detections, if your HDD is detected then save and exit.

thats it!

Installing extra hard drive

before opening cpu just confirm that the another harddisk is master or slave by going to BIOS set up or CMOS setup....

then open you cpu
see near the harddisk which is already connected ...
then do the following:
first you have to make jumper settings .. if the harddisk which is already connected is master then you must make the extra harddisk slave by shifting the jumper to next two pins .... about jumpers it will be defined on the harddisk label refer it....

. . . .
. . . .

just refer this simple dots as pins which is parallel.. ... if you want to make master then you put the jumper to this first pins parallelly if you want to make slave then put in to second pins parallely...
then
1. there will be one bus which is left empty parallel to the harddisk which is already connected... the bus will broad and it will be in white colour ... connect it to extra harddisk correctly...
2.there will one more parallel power supply which will be have 4 pins small one ... connect it to extra harddisk the yellow wire must be facing you....
then just switch on the pc and check in bios settings the extra harddisk is detected or not... if not you have not connected properly connect it properly...
