You can try to dry it out, If you can remove the battery do that, put the player in a bag of rice and seal it for 1 - 2 days. Then leave the player for another day before you reconnect the battery. Thats all I have...

Mine went for a swim too, and I got a "contact support - 5" error message. I Googled that and numerous support sites told me that meant my Zune hard drive was fried. Eventually the screen went black and would not power on or charge at all. I bought a new Zune (Zune support would have replaced it with an identical one for the same price that I bought a bigger one for on eBay). Tonight, two weeks later on a whim I plugged it back into the computer, and it started to charge. Now it's as good as new. :) I guess I needed one more Zune. LOL

Try the reset procedure...

hold the back button and the up button until you see the Zune logo then release. if this doesnt work then you are going to have to reset your Zune....however this will loose all the data on the zune so your music/movies will be completely gone. you are going to need to press and hold the back and up button until the zune logo appears then hold the back,play/pause, and the center button until you see "please wait"

When i sync new music and try to play it it plays for 10 seconds then my zune freezes

Wipe the device. Update the firmware. Then re-add all your media (music) and try again.

If the problem persists you will need to contact Microsoft (Zune) about the problem because then you are dealing with a hardware issue and not a software issue. Hardware issues can only be fixed by professionals and support from Zune.

My zune fell out of my pocket while I was working in the rain and got wet. Not sure how long it was out-maybe 20 minutes-but still worked for a little while. It shut off a bit later and won't restart. ...

yeah you should have shut it off right after it got wet and let it dry completely, by letting it run with water in it you probably fried the battery and internal circuitry

Zune 8 gb hold switch broken tried to over ride switch but dont know where to make connections

Look at the switch when it is in the unlocked positions. There are three contacts, connect the two contacts with a little bridge between which the slider of the switch is located when it is in the unlocked position. That will permanently unlock your Zune. There are third party Zune repair services, that will fix it for cheap. Even better, I found an DYI Zune repair guide, so you can do it yourself too, not that difficult. If you can't do it yourself, have a tech savy friend do it for you.

My zune got wet it the washing machine how do i fix it myself

If it went through the wash, open everything you can and let it dry out for AT LEAST ONE WEEK. Water can get into a lot of areas that are hard to dry out. Since you already tried to turn it on, it might be destroyed.

Water in my zune

okayyy. why would you use water and soap?
You should have took a very very very damp rag and wiped it down.
You most likely need to get a new zune. BUt if your zune every gets wet somehow dont try and turn it on, let it sit for at least 24 hours...you will have better chance of it turning on then.

Zune freezes and says contact support

in order to fix this . you have to restart the device. to restart the device you press and hold back while also pressing and holding the top part of the zune pad until screen goes blank and zune logo appears this should work. if contact support comes back up try restoreing the device.

for more info on how to restore the zune go to zune.net/support and press technical issues and a list with how to fix any problems will appear
