My SANSA m240 just locked up while I was playing the radio. I have replaced the battery and left the battery out over night and the thing still doesn't work. The thing is not on hold. When I push the power it now says initializing but doesn't do anything else. The only way I can turn it off is by removing the battery. When I plug it in to the computer it doesn't load.

After I power up my Sansa, it just says 'Sansa m240' and will stay frozen on that.

Seems like a firmware problem. Try upgrading your firmware or resetting your device if its possible.

Frozen screen

Hold down the power button for 20 or more seconds; when you release the power button, the Sansa Connect will restart on its own. If it doesn't restart, you did not hold down the power button long enough -- try again.

Make sure there's a battery in the player. This doesn't work when it is plugged into the USB port.

Jan 21, 07 I called and spoke with a Sandisk rep on Jan 16 about the "Sansa m240 startup screen" freeze-up problem that so many are experiencing. He said a bad batch was sent out in early December and on those m240''s there is "NO POSSIBLE FIX" for that problem, but no plans for a recall. He said he could not discuss what the problem was, but I guess it would be a hardware issue, since a firmware issue could easily be resolved. He said anyone with this problem is requested to call Sandisk and get a MRA number, then return the m240 to Sandisk for a replacement. If you have one that''s frozen on the Sansa m240 startup screen (all other freeze-ups can probably be corrected) take it back to your place of purchase or call Sandisk immediately. <>
