Can't get auxiliary to work on Pioneer Mosfet Head unit 50x4

You have to turn the AUX input on through the function menu which can be accessed by following these steps

1. with the unit on. press and hold the source button unitl the unit turns of (or goes into demo mode, which is fine)

2. depending on the model that you have, you will have to press and hold the
(volume button or the audio button), until a menu is displayed.

3 . toggle through until you find AUX 1 and AUX 2. i would turn themboth on and see which one you have plugged into, then you can go backand turn the other off.

4. once you have change it to ON. press the source button to turn on. the aux option should now be in your source options.

5. also, while on AUX, you can go into the audio settings and turn up the SLA (sound level adjustment) to +4

hope this helps

In response to these instructions:

I have been holding the source button down. All that happens is the screen goes dark for a second and as soon as i remove my finger it goes back to playing the radio station that i was on. I have tried holding the volume button down and it turns the stereo off. After I did that I held the volume down again and it takes me to a place where I can adjust the time. If I try to turn the volume control it shuts everything off. I have the jack that runs from the back of the stereo through my glove box and onto the ground. It just doesn't recognize the AUX. I cant find where you have to go to turn the AUX back on. It has been on before but now it must be turned off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

My Pioneer radio the DEH-2460R has on the back the white and the red cabel plug in, but i can't seem to activate the aux function is this possible with this type of radio?

That's not an auxiliary input, it's an output. Pioneer units that have an auxiliary input use a 3.5mm mini jack, not RCA jacks. Your model does not have an auxiliary input, or any way to add one..

How do I use the auxiliary input option on my Pioneer DEH-P59000IB? It has no auxiliary input to plug in a wire.

After looking up your unit's info, I found that it does indeed have an aux input, but it's on the rear of the unit. Get yourself a 3.5mm aux cable (normal aux cable), pull the unit from the dash (being careful not to disconnect any wires), plug one end into the aux jack and feed the other end thru the area where the unit sits in the dash and out one side or the other of the center area of the dash (by the footwells). Put the head unit back in place and GENTLY pull the aux cable enough to get out the last bit of slack, but not so hard that you pull it out of the back of the head unit. You can tuck the extra slack up under the console where it meets the carpet. If you wanted to get real fancy, you could drill a slot in the storage area of the console large enough for the cable to fit but small enough that the end won't slip through so you can keep it all out of sight and just plug your phone or MP3 player in and hide it in the console. Then just switch the source on the unit to aux and enjoy!

How AUX works?

aux stands for auxiliary input, it means a device like mp3 player can be plugged into head unit and passed along and amplified by the internals of the radio. so the radio will control the passive device.

I have a pioneer super tuner III D 50 w x 4 and i cant get the AUX input to work please help

turn the unit off by pressing and holding the off button. The only thing that should be showing then is the time. Then, press and hold the function buttion. This should display the setup menu. Scroll through the menu by pressing the function button (I think). "Aux" should show up and then press up/down or left/right (not sure again). When it says Aux on or yes, turn the unit back on. Press the "source" button until you get to AUX.

turn off your player by pressing and holding volume controler.
press and hold longer (~5 sec) it again to turn it on (you should see 'tuner' in the lcd).
push up arrow to select aux and right/left to turn it on.

now you can connect your ipod and select aux (as ussual switching between tuner/cd player/aux)

How do I turn on the "external aux" for my pioneer DEH-p7000r

You'll need an adapter cable such as this one:
http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?search=ip+bus&i=469PIOPRCA

The adapter cable will convert the changer port on your head unit into an AUX input with dual RCA jacks. Once connected, the head unit will detect the cable and allow it to be another source (i.e. radio, cd, aux).

To connect your iPod to the adapter cable, use any iPod cable or dock that outputs to male RCA plugs.

AUX inputs

Turn the ignition key to on or accessory position, turn the stereo off, then hold the function key for a couple seconds, the stereo will turn on and you scroll through the menu with the left and right arrow buttons and change settings with the up and down buttons
