Hello,

Yes, it is normal and it will work properly if the seal is firmly attached back to where it fell off, because rainbow vacuum combine the power of air with the muscle of water creates a cleaning machine that efficiently satisfies the needs of a household.

Take care.

The top of my rainbow is broken can it be fixed?

Yes, the early version eSERIES on the Cap Cover Assembly was a disc that was glued into place. You can order the new design that is one complete piece so this problem will never happen again.

This machine will blow air instead of ****. Any advice?

The most common reason no suction up is that the lid is not fully seated on the dirty water tank. Be sure to hook the two tabs on the front of the lid, and then snap the rear latch into place. Another reason is that the duct on the front of the dirty water tank is missing. The duct may have been removed to install the hose, and was not put back in place. It is a square plastic piece, about the size of a slice of sandwich bread, which slides into the front of the tank. A far less common reason for no pick-up is that the seal that the tank sits on has fallen off the motor cover suction tube. You will see a round tube on the bottom of the dirty water tank. This sits on top of a large rubber seal on the motor cover when the tank is in place. Be sure the seal has not fallen down into the hood. Warm air is normally blown out through the bottom of the machine to warm the carpet.

Hoover spin brush model f5914-900 wont draw water back out of carpet

Please remove the recovery tank and check and see there is a black rubber ring seal on the large vacuum tube that rises from the base to meet the bottom corner of the recovery tank. This rubber seal may have fallen off the tube and be found laying under the hood. It seals the vacuum source to the recovery tank.

How do you disassemble Rainbow D4c to replace power cord? Took four screws loose but unable to see how to get housing loose...

Gently pull on the rubber gasket that seals the water tank to the canister. Although there are more screws under there - they aren't necessary to remove only to replace your cord. It is the gasket that is holding the motor flange and the plastic housing together that hinders your progress. If you're gentle about pulling off the gasket and it's in good enough shape, you can usually put it back on with some rubber cement (the same thing it is originally attached with) when you're finished. If the gasket breaks, it would have to be replaced - but not a big deal - they aren't really very expensive.

Can not get the housing off

Remove the 4 screws on the bottom of the canister, and also carefully remove the water basin gasket. You will reattach the gasket with rubber contact cement when you're finished with your repair/cleaning.

Remove suction motor on rainbow vacuum

Take off the water tank, remove the screw, should be four, that will separate the 2 pieces, remove the rubber seal, remove the screws, 8 If I remember, disconnect the wires to the motor, it should pull out. Replace motor, hook up the wires, screw it back together, glue the water seal back on.

Motor replacement for Rainbow D4se

From the bottom, remove the screws separating the top and the bottom. Then at the bottom, remove the round water seal, take out those screws, ( careful with the water seal, reglue it with contact cement when you put it back on). At the top of the motor, take out the scres around the motor and it should pull out.
