Question about Garden

1 Answer

Have a Weedeater trimmer model SST25. I can start it with full choke and keep it running at half choke but when I try to use it at half choke or run position it stalls. Have tried adjusting the idle without any luck.

Carburetor needs to be cleaned. probably wouldn't hurt to clean the fuel filter as well.

Gas Trimmer will not stay started

Many times with a gas mix, after sitting for a while, the mix separates and gums up the carb. Taking the carb off and soaking it overnight in a parts or carb cleaner and running carb cleaner through the tank and gas lines will cure this.

How to start

Full choke until it tries to start, half choke until it does, and once it's running, open the choke fully and wait a few seconds for it to warm up before using it, as well as 15-20 seconds to let it cool down before shutting it off so as not to warp any metal parts of the engine

I have a weedeater feather fl 20 it only runs on full choke, but when i try half choke or run it dies out.

Check the carb or idle adjustment screws on the side. Sounds like you're not getting enough air.

Weedeater dies when you open choke

After you start it and are in the second stage of the choke (half choke ) let it run for awhile until it warms a bit then try openning choke and going to full throttle.
