Question about NEC Dterm DTP-2DT-1 Phone
I have an NEC Dterm SeriesE phone, stock # 590041. I can't figure out how to get it to go to voice mail, when I can't answer or am away from my desk. The only current option I have to get recorded messages is to set it to Do Not Disturb. I would like for it to only go to voice mail when I cannot or am not there to answer. I have tried the commands I have found listed for this type of phone. The only one I have had success with is the *8 and #8, which do activate and deactivate Do Not Disturb. The *6 and *7 are not working to forward calls to voice mail.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

This works on the series E phones. It may or may not work on the series II.
Example to enter the name “Pat” press:
77 HOLD 22 TRANSFER HOLD 88 TRANSFER HOLD

The common thing on this style of phone is the silver ribbon cable that connects the display to the main circuit board comes loose after being dropped or knocked around and needs to be reinserted. You will need to open up the phone to do this. If this is not the solution then you will either need to purchase a used phone, send it in for repair or use another phone to take parts from.
