Hi,

sounds like the drain pump could be jammed with something like broken glass or broken plate. if you remove the filter you should have access to the drain pump which is usually under a removable cover. remove the cover and with a torch see if there is any blockage and make sure the drain pump freely turns.

if this is ok check under the sink where the drain hose connects into the u bend. sometimes food can block up at this connection and the unit cannot drain. if the unit cannot drain it will then not fill with water. each step of the cycle needs to be complete before it can move onto the next step in the cycle. Remove the drain hose and have a look in the u bend for any blockages.
most faults with dishwashers are drain faults.
Hope this helps.

Hello Al. Your dishwasher motor is heading south. Based upon the age of this machine I recommend replacement as opposed to repair. The good news is the new ones are much more economical to operate and they do a much better job. Joe

The dishwasher does not work at all. It just makes a slight hum.

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

It sounds like you may have a faulty fill valve or a stuck motor impeller. I guess the first obvious question is, Does the unit fill with water ? If no and it hums, faulty fill valve or water supply is off.

If it does fill with water does the humming begin after it has filled, and if so has the unit recently been idle for a period of time...say a couple of weeks or so ? If yes, the wash impeller has become stuck and there is a simply resolution for Bosch dishwashers, it's a common occurrence.

These are relevant questions and can point directly to the problem if you want to reply I can help you move forward.

Let me know what you find and I'll try to assist you in any manner I can going forward.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

How do you disable the cycle completion signal/beep on the Bosch SHU9915UC dishwasher?

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

I think can answer your question..."How do you disable the cycle completion signal/beep on the Bosch SHU9915UC dishwasher?"

Follow these steps...

**How to Operate the Cycle Completion Signal**

1. Open door, hold down program button (see
Beeper Table below) and simultaneously turn the unit "ON".

MODEL Program BUTTON

SHU 9950 Delay Start Hours
**SHU 9910-9920 Delicate/Econo** should be yours
SHU 8800/8810 Quick Wash

SHV 6800 Delay Start Hours
SHV 4800 Delicate/Econo
SHV 4300 Delicate/Econo

2. Release program button.
a. For SHV 6803 and SHU9950 models:
The display will blink with a code of "0", "1" or
"2". You are in program mode.

• If the display blinks with a "0", you will hear
no signal (indicates OFF).

• If the display blinks with a "1", you will hear a
LOW volume signal.

• If the display blinks with a "2", you will hear a
HIGHER volume signal.

b. For all other models with the beeper
function:

• If the machine beeps, then the Cycle
Completion Signal has been enabled.

• When you push the button again and it does
not beep, it means that the Cycle Completion
Signal has been disabled.

3. To change the program, press the program
button until the desired setting is selected.

4. Turn the Dishwasher off to take it out of
program mode.

* At the end of a wash cycle, the beeper will sound
off two times, and again every 15 minutes until the
dishwasher is turned off.

Hope this answers your question and provides you with what you needed.

Thank you for choosing FixYa and good luck.

Please take a moment to rate the solution provided and a short testimony if you feel it's warranted, but also let me know if you require further assistance.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Bosch dishwasher timer freezing

There is a recall on the control board of many of these models, butyour problem is likely not related. It sounds like a plugged drain system or a possible bad drain pump. That's why you are hearing the pump running constantly. I have written a guide to help. It is here. Thanks!

Bosch SHU9915UC Dishwasher - wash cycle won't happen

hi there your dishwasher has gone into flood protection mode ie. water has leaked into the base and activated the float switch.

to try and locate the leak tip your d/w back to drain the water from the base then remove both side panels and start a program to see if you can see where the water is leaking from, being careful not to touch anything while the d/w is running as live parts are exposed

hope this is of some help
