The heater is made of several portions. When these portions are bad, only the working ones could produce the heat. Hence there ds not enough heat to dry clothes. Replace the heater element assembly to take care of this problem.

Dryer runs warm but never gets hot enough to dry fully

  • sounds like yo may have a restriction in your vent line. Check outside vent and see if you are getting a real good warm air flow coming out If not, check to be sure outside vent is not blocked and also see if the hose behind the dryer is kinked as that will cut down the ability for the dampness to escape out to the outside.

Everythings dries fine in my Kenmore dryer except for towels. It takes 2+ hours to dry a load of towels. What could be the issue?

Make sure that the moist warm air from the dryer can escape from the room where the dryer is located and that the Lint filter is clean and, if fitted, the air control vent is fully open.

The dryer needs to get clean fresh air with little or no moisture tro work properly: opening window/door to let the excessive moist air escape will help.

Hope it helps!

Our dryer is running, and seems to get warm, but will not fully dry a load of clothing unless it has run for several cycles.

I have the exact same problem. I hope we get an answer. I thought it might be the thermostat switch, but a serviceman told me that those either work or dont work.. there is no in between. He did say that they come in different temp ratings, though.

Clothes get warm but stay wet and do not fully

You need to check the venting. Take the vent hose off the back of the dryer and try drying a load with it off and see if it will fully dry. If so, clean the vent hose.

Dryer fails to dry clothes fully, but the clothes feel warm; could this be an element issue?

If the clothes are warm I wouldn't think the problem is the heating element. Check the venting from the machine to the outside and make sure you do not have a blockage somewhere. If it is clear, you probably need to replace the thermal cut off.

Electric dryer does not seem to heat up enough to fully dry clothes... I cleaned out the vent and it is running free... Air coming out is luke warm at best. This dryer has a moisture sensor in it. Thanks

#1 Check to be sure you have 240VAC. The motor and timer only require 120VAC.
If the power is ok, then a thermostat or heating element are the next likely culprits.

2 to 3 cycles to fully dry clothes

if the clothes are warm after the cycle then you need to make sure the vent to the outside of the house is not plugged if they are not warm then it is in the heating circuit of the dryer wether it be the element or a fuse will have to be tested. to dry clothes it takes heat and air flow if you dont have one of the two they will not dry correctly

Dryer is not drying clothes fully.

As long as the dryer doesn't have electronic controls, this very common symptom indicates a bad(open) heating element.
