How can I stop the oven igniter continuing to spark after the oven has lit

This should not be a problem as the setup is it doesn't know which gas knob has been turned on, therefore the oven and grill spark to ignite either .

Hope this is helpful

Regards
John

PS if I had known the make and model number you can probably get a manual online.

We have a Whirlpool Gas Range, model SF357PEKQ. When I start the bake feature, you can hear the gas flow, the ignitor click (about 4 times) yet there is no ignition of the gas (flame doesn't start)....

Whirlpool had some grounding issues with some of their electronic ignition ranges. Make sure your outlet is grounded first. Then you might need to make sure the bake burner itself is grounded very good against the range frame. I have put star washers between the burner and frame and tightened very tight, that sometimes helps. Also make sure the holes in the burner under the spark electrode are clear from debris. Sometimes the burning of gas leaves a residue that can stop up the holes and not let the gas flow out where the spark is hitting the burner. Hope that helps.

I have an electrolux EOG6330 gas oven and when I light the grill the igniter continues to spark, the only wayto stop it,is to turn the grill off.Any body know what causes it and how to sort it?

Hello dishboy,

There are 2 possibilites causing that

1) The electrode(spark plug) for the grill is is built up with a bunch of grime and not telling the spark module the burner is lit and turn off the spark. The electrode could be cleaned with the green srubby side if a kitchen sponge,or relpaced.

2) The electrode is telling the spark module to turn off but the spark module isn't responding, to turn off the spark. The spark module would need to be replaced

I hope this helps,

Gene

When i turn my oven on no gas comes out to get lit how do i fix this

If your oven is relatively new, it has an automatic ignition system underneath the flame spreader. You can check to see if there is a small spark or glow when you turn the gas on. If not, the ignition is probably bad. If you see a spark but the gas doesn't ignite, there is a break in the system continuity. The system shuts down for safety. You may need to replace the ignition, a job that might be best left to a qualified tech.

Spark module clicks and gas will not stay lit, flame comes on but goes out

hi Clogged burners are a very common problem with gas ranges because foods spilled on the burners block the gas ports and prevent ignition. On some gas ranges you can remove the top ring of the burner to expose the ports. Here's how to clean a burner:
Step 1: Turn off the power supply, both gas and electric, to the range. Then remove the burner.
Step 2: Soak the burner in a solution of mild household detergent and water. Clean it with a soft cloth.
Step 3: Clear the gas ports with a pin or needle, rinse the burner, and let it dry. Caution: Do not use a toothpick or matchstick to clean the gas ports. If the tip of the wood gets stuck in the burner ports, it could cause a serious blockage.
Step 4: When the burner is completely dry, replace it, and turn on the power and the gas supply.
thank u.................
