I'm trying to install this program. I've tried 6 times and 2 different computers to run this program and zero success. It installs fine but just doesn't run. I double click on the icon, it flashs for a few seconds then nothing. It will not open, period. I've tried the repair function without any success. I'm using a AMD 64 system running XP Pro with lots of memory and 750gig HD.
What's up with this software? I paid $90 for it and cannot return it to the store because its opened.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am getting the same message that my wizard was interrupted. When this happens it just kicks you out. There is no going to the C drive because it never gets installed. I asked for another disk, then sent it to me and the new one does the same thing. Can anyone help me? There was no answer to this question, there was only an answer to the question once it's installed.
Certain codecs make Photo Explosion bom like K-Lite for one.
If you installed or even update media player or Real Player with certain codecs it will bom out.
Uninstall them and try to open the programme again.
If it opens get something like VLC Media Player it opens almost enything.
Don't know if this is a solution but it (version 3) installed on my vista home premium and after it installed it told me to get the update for vista which I was able to download directly and run and it works fine. Cannot paste the update file to this blog:(
Uninstall it and try running CCleaner (a free program) and set it to clean registry and then try installing again. can't say this will work but it is worth a try.
If that doesn't work you might have a problem with windows (missing files in OS that should be there) try noting the exact failure report and Google it.
After trying to install on my Vista laptop, and trying all workarounds from Nova, plus others from different websites, Nova offered me a refund .......... It will NOT install on a Vista computer at all. Don't buy it.

Note: Please make sure you download the correct one for your version of Photo Explosion 3.0. If you have the Deluxe version, download the Deluxe update. If you have the regular version, download the non-Deluxe update. 5. Save the update to an easily accessible location, such as your Desktop. 6. Once downloaded, go to where the update was saved and double-click the update. 7. After installing the update, you should no longer experience this problem.
Note: It is extremely important that you do not run Photo Explosion until you have restarted the computer and installed the update. If you run the program before installing the update, you will need to start the steps over from the beginning. This comes directly from the Nova FAQs. Hope this helps!

If you are on Windows XP, this can normally be resolved by setting the compatibility mode for Photo Explosion to Windows 98. You can do this by following these steps:
1) Click on the Start button. 2) Click on the My Computer. This should open a window titled My Computer. 3) Double-click on the C: drive. 4) If the information is hidden, there is normally an option to show the hidden files/folders. You will need to select this option. 5) Double-click on the Program Files folder. 6) If the information is hidden, there is normally an option to show the hidden files/folders. You will need to select this option. 7) Double-click on the Nova Development folder. 8) Double-click on the Photo Explosion folder. 9) Right-click on IPE40 icon, which looks like a camera. 10) Select the Properties option from the bottom of the pop-up menu. 11) Click on the Compatibility tab. 12) Put a check in the check-box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for". 13) From the drop-down list, chose "Windows 98 / Windows Me". 14) Click on the OK button. 15) Reboot your computer.

Download and install "Registry Mechanic" then do the updates prior to running it and removing anything for the first time. This will get rid of all your current Registry errors.
I had the same problem, and a friend said photo explosion was conflicting with internet explorer 6. I uninstalled internet explorer version 6, and that worked for about 3 months. Now, the program won't run again. But, I did just install firefox, so maybe that's it.....
