Question about Logitech Cordless TrackMan Wheel 904346-0403 Trackball

The arrow cursor freezes

The arrow cursor will "freeze" AFTER I return to the computer and start it out of the sleep mode. I can get the cursor to start moving again by unplugging it from the USB port and replugging it. While the cursor is in the working mode, it does not freeze up. It only freezes up after I've put the computer in the sleep mode and then start up again. I am using this mouse on a newly purchased IMAC.....Gene

SOURCE: Mouse stops responding randomly

The issue may not necessarily be with the mouse. Are you able to use the keyboard once the mouse freezes? If you not even able to use the keyboard, there is some application installed on your computer or a virus due to which the mouse freezes. If, in case, the keyboard works even though the mouse is stuck, try changing the USB port or try a different mouse. Please revert back with any other observations. Good Luck

SOURCE: No Cursor

Did you register the mouse to the receiver? There should be a button on the receiver, the bottom of the mouse or both used to connect the wireless mouse to the receiver. Also, if you do not have a red light on the bottom of your mouse it may have a battery problem.

SOURCE: Logitec V270 bluetooth mouse freezes

I found no solution but plenty of similar complaints on the V270 on other than just Vista machines. I will suggest finding another model mouse and check it for Vista compatibility before buying.
I am using a Logitech M-RBB_DEL4 mouse made for Dell, it's bluetooth and works flawlessly on my XP machine along with the keyboard it came with. I will try the one I just ordered on my Vista machine when the BT Keyboard and Mouse arrive.

Reset button hp pavilion

Hi,
HP Pavilion not available reset button.
A hard or forced reset erases all information in the computer's memory which may restore functionality. Resetting your computer forces the system to clear and reestablish the software connections between the BIOS and the hardware.

Performing a hard or forced reset might fix the following conditions:-
Windows stops responding.
Computer stops before Windows loads - no boot, blinking cursor on a black display, and errors relating to OS not found or a missing drive.
Display suddenly goes blank and stays blank.
Software freezes.
Keyboard stops responding.
The computer does not return from sleep or suspend mode.

Thanks..

hi there,
thanks for providing the OS type.
The issue may be with any hardware or software you recently installed /uninstalled.,

It may also be due to the reason that some Hardware has stopped its function alltogather or has got a wrong update.

We may diagnose the issue by;
1. restart in Safe mode. Resolved? No
2. Restart F8: VGA mode

Still not fixed?

3. restart in safemode again,
Go Start>Run> Msconfig
startup tab;
uncheck not necessary items .(You need to be most decisive in this step)
4. ok.
5. shtdown.
6. reboot in safe mode

Worked?

Last resort:
Reinsall OS:

HP pavillion cursor freezes

Sounds like u just need to wipe the hard drive out and load a fresh copy of ur operating system. This is just an educated guess but u may have either corrupted the operating system with some other software u added or removed or ur hard drive is writing things to a bad volume or sector on the drive. If u reload the OS and it still is acting funning and freezing up replace the hard drive.

MY CURSOR AND KEYBOARD FROZE ON MY DELL DIMENSION 2400 IT IS 6 YRS OLD WOULD A PC TUNE UP HELP. I CONTACTED ATT MY INTERNET PROVIDER AND THE CONNECTION IS FINE SO ITS MY COMPUTER THEY ASSURED ME. I CAN...

It is most likely a piece of software or your hard drive that is causing the issue. Any easy way to tell would be to go into "safe mode" and see if you still have the same issue: reboot the PC and when it starts/beeps start pushing/tapping F8 until you get a menu with an option for safe mode. Once that comes up see if you can get it to freeze again. If it does not freeze the likely culprit is a piece of software, if still freezes the likely cause is hardware related and I would look at either a good hard drive utility to try and repair the issue or simply replacing your hard drive.

Vista computer HP in sleep mode. How to get it

Typically you can just press the power button once, and the computer should come out of sleep mode.

Be sure to power off your comptuer regularly to reduce risk of freezing when computer enters sleep mode

To chance Sleep Mode Settings follow instructions below:

First click on the start icon at the bottom left hand corner of your screen and type into the start search box :power options , now click on "power options" it will be at the top under programs, next, under perfered plans section you need to click on " change plan settings" that is under the plan that has already been selected, this plan has a blue dot on it , come down to and click on " change advanced power settings" , now you need to scroll down to "multimedia settings " in the window that has just been displayed, click on it's box to open it up , then do the same to " when sharing media "' now click on the text to the right of "setting" it is light blue ,this will high light it and you now click on the little arrow . select " allow the computer to sleep ", lastly click on ok!

Does dskchck & freezes if cancelled goes black & only cursor show

That's a common problem with Vista...you'll need to restart your computer. Start back up in safe mode...by pressing F8 at the boot screen. then restart your computer normally through the start menu. After this I would find a good copy of Windows XP Professional and back up my data, and install XP over vista.

Curser freezes

When you said your cursor freeze, does the computer still respond or the whole computer froze. If the computer froze, then it could be anything from, memory, hard drive, cpu, or mainboard. Does the keyboard works, if just the cursor freeze, try using a usb mouse.
