Question about U-Line Icemaker

U-Line Echelon CLR2060 Ice machine doesnt harvest properly

I have a U-Line Echelon CLR2060 Ice machine. It runs through the cycles just fine, and will usually harvest the first batch of ice, but after that, the ice does not harvest and just builds up a big blob. I've used an ice machine cleaner three times, and it has not made any difference. I use reverse-osmosis filtered water in the machine, and the ice making grid appears to be very clean. The service manual recommends replacing the bypass valve. I've checked the solenoid on the bypass valve and it is functioning properly. Since the ice drops on the first load, I assume the bypass valve is functioning. According to the manual, the thermistor determines how long the freeze cycle is and how long the harvest cycle is. It seems to be freezing fine. Any suggestions on what to do next.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: U-LINE BCM95 NOT CYCLING

These units take a full cycle to get to the fill cycle, so you won't get ice on the first cyle unless you manually fill the tray when you first power it on. You may have some air in the water line and need to cycle a few times to fully bleed the air out. Also check the water inlet for debris in the filter screen using a small brass brush, then bleed out air -with water on- while tightening back hose connection avoiding need to bleed while cycling. SOURCE: U Line CLR60 Ice Maker gets stuck in harvest mode & melts ice

have you got the equipment to change this solenoid valve? you will need a vacuum pump to evacuate the system once you have changed the valve, and the equipment to charge the system with refrigerant (gas).

SOURCE: We have a CLR2060. It

What did you use to clean the grid? It must be U-line cleaner. I seen people use other cleaners just to find the same results. If the ice isnt ejecting then you can check the hotgas coil. It should be 360 ohms. If its open or week I see this from time to time. If its neither then you need a service tech to repair the sealed system . Replace the hotgas valve.

SOURCE: clr2060 water freezes but it never dumps the ice.

I have the same problem. I tested the solenoid that operates the hot gas bypass valve and it worked fine. Based on the service manual I found on the web, I figured it had a bad hot gas bypass valve, which requires removing the refrigerant. I took it in for service and the tech said it was a bad control board. He determined that by disconnecting a wire from the Ice cube size control. Once disconnected, the machine readily fills up with ice like it's supposed to, but the ice is too thin to be any good. They charge 240.00 to replace the board so I told them to go for it.

I HAVE A MANITOWOC QM30A ICE MACHINE. WILL THE LIQUID LINE THERMISTOR CAUSE IT TO RUN BUT NOT MAKE ICE?

Liquid line sensor on ice machines in general is used in conjunction with the control boards to determine defrost and harvest cycles. You could measure the line temp and chech the resistance of the sensor to check it.

My hoshizaki ice machine KM-900mrf model beeps 3 times and stop making ice. After reset it starts, but stats beeping again after an hour.

Have a look at the side of the evaporator; there is a probe (thermistor) attached to it that tells the control board when to initiate the harvest cycle. make sure it's clean and attached properly and doesn't need replacing. If hitting the float switch initiates the harvest cycle it sounds like you have a blocked/ scaled water tube or switch housing. take off the bottom of the switch assembly (black rubber bit) and clean through to the water chamber. run a cycle of descaler before trying again.

WHY scotsman iec machine shuts down on the refridgeration light ON CM3 CONT

Is the machine producing ice thick enough to come off the evaporator plate? the machine will try to harvest 3 times before it locks out on long harvest. Harvest cycle: The compressor and hot gas valve are both powered during the harvest cycle. The fan and pump are off at this time. The machine stays in the harvest cycle until the evaporator thermistor senses 52 DEG F. If the bin is not full, the unit goes into another freeze cycle. I would check the Thermistor

Sce170a-1a wont harvest

This machine has a cube size control. Which tells the machine when to go into a harvest. there is a harvest switch did you try to force it into a harvest and if you did, did it harvest. depending on ambient temperature from start of freeze cycle to harvest it should be making ice every 15 to 18 minuets and then go into a harvest. so start the ice machine and time it , run it for 18 minuets and force into a harvest. after ice drops check the ice bridge thickness. Bridge thickness should be about 3/16'' the ice dimple must not be DEEPER than 1/16". If this is good then we need to look at what is not working to harvest ice. The cube size control is a reverse - acting thermostat that controls the start of the timed freeze cycle. It must be set properly to prove the correct size cube bridge. When it is closed, an indicator light on the control board will be on. If you force it into a harvest and it harvest the ice with no problems and the ice is at the right thickness then replace the cube size control, but if dose not harvest the ice and you see the ice is at a good thickness and not to thick because if it is to thick it will freeze to every thing and will not drop. SYMPTOM. Unit freezes, but will not try to harvest. POSSIBLE CAUSE: Cube size control will not close; to check: Unplug water pump, switch unit OFF and then ON, in about 2 minutes the timed freeze light on the control board should be ON. PROBABLE FIX: If timed freeze light does not go ON, replace cube size control. SYMPTOM #2: Timed freeze light glows, but after 4 minutes unit dose not power hot gas nor purge valves Then replace control board.

Ice machine harvest two times and shut off

These unit time freeze time and harvest times and keeps track of them. If your freeze time exceeds 35 minutes or harvest time exceeds 3 minutes, it will place unit in lockout. The biggest cause for excessive time to harvest is the harvest valve not functioning properly, and undercharged unit or a dirty condenser. The most probable cause is a dirty condenser. Under charged units can be determined by checking compressor outlet temperature while running, it should be 150 to 190 degrees depending on atmospheric conditions present. If it is harvest valve, the downstream temperature will stay at or near compressor discharge temperature. It should cool down to ambient temperature in a few minutes after freeze cycle begins.

Condensor fan runs during harvest cycle , hot gas valve energizes, evaporator harvests ice incomplete

Sounds like possibly a bad relay in the controls. The condenser fan is supposed to turn off during harvest. If the harvest is incomplete, and I do not know if your model has an ice curtain or not, I will assume it does and the curtain switch is not operating properly. No model, can't be more specific.

Too much ice, uint does not stop u-line CLR2060

The ice stops when the temperature reaches 34 degrees on the tube in the bin. If you have a airgap the sensor wont read the temperature properly. If you force the ice on that tube the icemaker should stop after it completes the cycle. If not. replace the board and thermistors.

Ice maker will not harvest

As crazy as this sounds, turn the temp control a little warmer (counter clockwise). On this model, this control needs to switch to harvest the ice. A warmer setting should fix this issue.

Make sure the curtain is not torn and there are no leaks from the resivoir. If ok check to make sure you have enough water pressure to the machine. Make sure you have enough water passing through the valve during harvest cycle. To check... turn the timer cam to harvest cycle. Water should come in quickly behind the curtain on the right side and the timer should advance three minutes to freeze portion of cycle and stop running. Water should spray and form ice for approximately 25min. Then the timer advances for 5 minutes into harvest cycle and it refills with water again.
