Hi.

Here the manual for Photosmart 60, this is for the 5000, procedure is the same on the 5500 and on other plotters of 5x series.

Click on the Tab :Media and Ink

Choose The Ink System at the top

Click Changing Ink Types.

Follow the instructions on manual.

    Hi.

If you buy a kit like the C6093A , the smart chip should be embedded in the HP dye ink cartridges.

You can buy a kit from HP. Ensure that you buy the right kit for your model. The one above fits 60'' 5000 5000PS 5500 5500PS.

    Here the HP upgrade page.

    Here a third party distributor:C6093A

Low coolant. Coolant leaking somewhere

There is a UV dye you add to the radiator this will tell you where the leak is. You add it to the radiator drive vehicle for a day or so. You will need a kit contains a UV flashlight and a pair of UV glasses can be purchased at autozone for around 15 dollars. The dye cost around 10 dollars. Simply shine light around hoses, radiator and all connections the leak will show up yellow. Very easy to do I do it all the time.

Yellow printhead on my Designjet 3500CP isn't releasing ink

If you can access the printhead, try taking a rag with a small area heavily wet with Denatured Alcohol (this is a cleaning solution that can be purchased at Walmart or most stores with cleaning supplies. Rub the printhead thoroughly with the alcohol for a minute or two, it should help loosen any dried ink. Then try to print or run a print head clean cycle on the printer.

I have a Designjet 5500ps Printer and it is leaking blue ink, when printing, all my research indicates that I need to replace the carriage tube connector, but I am unable to find the replacement part.

Hi there

May be you can try to contact any Authorised HP Service centre for your probelm. Could you give me your correct location so i can tell you whome to contact?

Alternatively you can try to see where the leakage is taking place and try to seal it with silicon sealent so it can atleast last untill someone attends to the probelm from HP.

The technical term for it is INK TUBE ASSY. But make sure and tell the HP people about the size of the plotter that is 42" or 60" and also keep the Product Number and Sl. No. of the machine handy which is required by HP technical team. (You can find it at the back of the plotter)

After converting our 60" HP

Have you tried to revert back to the dye inks?
If that solves the problem, then your UV ink tubes have a bad control board.
(you did change the ink tubes system, printheads and ink ?)
If the error code continues, replace the Main PCA.

Can't find the A/C leak on my 96 honda accord. Pro mechanic used dye and can't find it.

You need to use a UV light to see the dye. The most common leak I have run into are in the condensors. If you still can not see the dye with a uv light suspect a leaky evaporator core.

Why does my hp c309 Photosmart Premium printer require two black ink cartridges? Can I use just one?

The Photo Black is pigment ink (last much longer than dye ink), while the Black is dye ink. Have alook here: http://www.earthboundlight.com/phototips/dye-pigment-metamerism.html for detail explanation

We have three Hp Designjet 5500 printers in the county.

Dye inks will fade in the light.
You need to convert it to UV Pigmentinks
Then they wont fade
