Hello,There is no way to charge the KLC-5001 battery with a usb cord,It requires a voltage supplied by the charger or the dock. There are after-market chargers available on E-BAY. They do not cost very much and some even come with new battery.Hope this helps.
Best Regards, Russell

SOURCE: my kodak M1063 digital camera was working great

The old used battery was probably not used for a long time and in time, completely discharged and died. It can't be brought back. I don't know why your camera won't turn on with the original battery.

SOURCE: my kodak easyshare M320 isn't charging

I had this problem too, after about 3 minutes the charging light would go out, I found the problem appeared to be either my charger or the wall socket, for some reason now it is charging, try plugging it in to different sockets, and watch the light, after 10 minutes you can be sure it won't go out. After charging DO NOT use your camera for about an hour, I found that if you use it right after charging its a real pain to charge again, and it acts as though its battery is still dead.

SOURCE: i am charging my digital camera using a usb cord

make sure you are using a 2.0 USB port. The old USB hubs (1.0) do not have power going through them.
The newer ports (2.0) tend to be on the harddrive or laptop body itself.

Try charging the battery using the battery charger. The camera does not charge the battery via the USB cable.

Use the USB cord to connect the camera to a powered USB port on a computer. Do not connect it through a USB hub. Be aware that not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge the batteries.

How do i charge my camera so that i can explore

You can charge the battery in two ways.

Use the supplied battery charger. Remove the battery from the camera, put it into the charger, and plug the charger into a power outlet.

Connect the camera via a USB cord to a powered USB outlet. Be aware that not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge the battery. You might want to consider a cell phone charger that plugs into a power outlet.

Is it possible to charge the batteries for a digital camera using the usb cable while the batteries are in the camera?

Some of the more recent digital cameras can indeed be charged using power supplied by a computer through the usb cable.
Your camera came with a battery that can only be charged using the included external charger and power cord.
You should be able to find a replacement charger on some of the more popular auction sites such as ebay.

How do I charge my camera with a usb cord. It

You have to use the battery charger included with the camera, or a replacement unit. The camera does not have charging circuitry built-in. Connecting the camera to a computer runs down the battery faster, as the camera must then communicate with the computer.

Charge

You need a separate battery charger for this camera. It does not have a battery charger built into the camera itself and can not be recharged thru any cords connected directly to the camera. The USB cords only transfer the files to the computer, they don't recharge the camera.
