Upgrade trial version of Office

When I purchased my new laptop 4 months ago it only had Works installed. Now I have the trial version of Microsoft Office 2007 installed and wish to upgrade it to the registered product. Can I buy an upgrade only or do I need something else?

Hello, a few months ago I brought a new laptop and I got Office home and student 2010, nobody told I had to install in within 30 days, so I was wondering if anybody had a Product key.

I believe you misunderstood the license conditions. The Office product you purchased along with your laptop is most probably a trial version limited to 30 days of function. The normal Office Home & Student does not come with a requirement to be installed within any time frame.

You cannot upgrade the trial for free, you need to purchase a full version of Office and install it.

If the seller told you differently when you acquired your laptop, you should hold him liable.

Product key for microsoft office on Acer Aspire computer

Hi There,

Because of the tough economic climate, Microsoft is finally installing fully activated MS Office products on some computers cooperating with some brands of laptops to entice buyers. This has only happened in the last 2 months.

For your situation you really only have 2 viable choices. 1. Purchase the key from Microsoft or, 2.You can download OpenOffice.org's free Office Suite. It is fully compatible with all MS Office documents and has programs equivalent to MS Word and Excel. Documents in OpenOffice can also be read by people with fully acitvated versions of MS Office.

There is one other option that I've seen but might not fit your "comfort" level. In my area, people who cannot afford to purchase an MS Office key at full price often post a request ad on the local Craigslist asking for someone to sell them a key from a retail purchase MS Office where 3 computers can be activated but the original purchaser only used one of the activations. Be sure that if you do this, it is the exact version as your trial version, or use the other persons disc to do an upgrade as their key will be tied to their disc in many cases.

Best Wishes

My laptop has microsoft office home and student 2007 version,,it keeps on asking the product key,,,,it has a window 7 operating system,,need help

Hi. I think sir the version of MS Office that you have there is only a trial version, because most of the laptops or notebook machines come only with a trial version of MS Office and I think its good only for 3 months or after 20 times of use, then it will ask for a new product. If you havent use it for 3 months or 20 times then you can just close the message box that its ask you for a product key, if not then you should purchase the license activation key from microsoft directly or you could purchase a full version of MS Office 2007 from a retailer or again from Microsoft directly. Hope This Helps

Upgrade or purchase full version of Office 2007 Pro

With all instances of new software you must purchase a full version. I wish that you could get a dicount by turing in your old sofwares product key but that isnt the case. You must purchase full retail versions in order for everything to work as it should.

Usually when you purchase a new computer it will come with a 60 trial of Microsoft Office. After 60 days have gone you will no longer be able to use the program without installing a product key.

A few things to check:

1. Usually you will get a full version of Microsoft Works on new computers. This is similar to Office but a little slimmed down.

2. If you want you can download Open Office which is a free office facsimile.

3. If you purchase a full version of Microosft Office you can reenter the product key and continue using it.

No MS Excel is a part of the MS Office suite and comes seperately from some computers. Some brand new computers may come with a trial of the office suite, but not all computers come with office on it.

Can't install microsoft office small business 2007 upgrade

The upgrade version is only to upgrade a previous version of MS office. The trial version does not qualify as previous version to be upgraded. You need to purchase the full product rather than the upgrade.

If you know somebody who has MS office 2003 with a valid product key, you could install that version, and then upgrade it with the product that you purchased

Loading MS Office Professional 2007 on New HP

Hello!
One thing that you should *not* have done was to install Office Pro over the trial version.  Unfortunately, MS is notorious for not cleaning up things properly when you overlay/install over one version with another.
One way to be absolutely sure of not having future problems would be to uninstall *both*, first uninstalling the Office Pro (last version installed), then unstalling the Office trial version, then reinstalling the Office Pro.  I know that this is a pain in the neck, but it is probably going to save you a lot of heartache (and headaches) in the future.
If this were me, I would do exactly like I said above, but before reinstalling Office Pro, I would run a good registry cleaner, and then do a reboot of the system.  That way, you are starting with a "clean" install of Office, which will cause you less problems in the future.  I am sure that some people will tell you that this is a lot of work, but it is nothing compared to having Office mess up 6 months down the line during an update or such, and then having to do all of the above *plus* a bunch of updates.  That whole procedure will take 10 times the time of just doing the paragraph above.
Hope this helps you out!

My laptop, which was only purchased 3 months ago will not allow me to do anything in word Which is micro soft office 2007

I have a strong suspicion that your Office 2007 is a trial version that came with your computer, and your 90 day free trial is up.

Did you purchase the Office 2007 separately, or was it in your laptop as part of its bundled software?

Most new computers come with bundled TRIAL software such as MSOffice, and many others that only have a 90 day time limit before you have to purchase the software.

Please let me know if this helps.
