Phone the AMCOR spares department on their new telephone number +44(0)1539724814. They do credit card sales to retail customers over the phone. Very helpful advice too.

I have a unit with no exhauste hose conecter and no nozzel fitting covers or a window panel

Sadly this company seems to be out of business and parts unavailable. You can get vent hose at lowes. I attached the hose to a unit with a couple of small metal brackets, zip ties and vent tape. For the window part, I cut a piece of plywood, painted it white and cut a hole for the vent hose. Attached it with zip ties and silver vent tape.

I am seeking asssitance in installing points for a 1974 Yamaha LT100

It is pretty easy. Remove the old points then install the new set. There is a slot where the lockdown screw goes. The slot limits the adjusting range yet allows the adjusting plate to move left and right to set the timing. The lockdown screw gets snugged up just enough to hold the points assembly in place so you can stick a screwdriver inside the flywheel and into the adjusting point to move the entire points assembly. Moving the sssembly makes the timing earlier or later. A dial gage is screwed into the spark plug hole to gage the position of the piston. The timing should be set such that the points open at 1.8mm BTC.. An ohlm meter will show you the moment the points break contact. You can check the timing with a timing light if your particular machine has an index mark on the flywheel and a static mark on the case. Not everyone has a dial gage, Ohlm meter and timing light. In general, set the points gap at .012 to .015 and you should be about right. The gap is set with the arm riding on the high point of the magneto center lobe. Please take a moment and rate my answer. Thanks.

Air intake via hose & window or intake from room only?

Hello artrey3 The answer is yes, BUT the unit will be exausting room/basement air outside ruining any efficency the unit is rated for. Also you will need makeup/fresh air in the basement. The unit exausting air can put the basement in a vacuum/negitive pressure pulling in air from the chimney!

Clamps? Always use a hose made to work on an assembly, using hose clamps can be very DANGEROUS.

Hot air coming out of back

portable air conditioners mainly have two hoses one hose is exhaust thats the one that is blowing hot air. the one pulling is return.. the hot air blowing out should be exhausted to the outside. the blowing air needs a hose and to be laid out a window the back should have model and serial maybe product number. the two holes are either 4 inch or three inch and most portable units other than hand me downs come with a window frame that allows the hot exchanged air to go outside and cooler air to be used for heat exchange.

Air exhaust hose gets extremely warm

The Pinguino's exhaust pipe has to be attached to the window bracket to direct the air hot air out of the room, otherwise the room can't cool properly.
The owner's manual has several troubleshooting remedies for you to try:
1)  If the window is open, close the window. 2)  If there is a heat source in the room (burner, lamp, etc.), eliminate the heat source. 3)  If the exhaust hose is detached, connect the exhaust hose.  (My recommendation is to connect the exhaust hose to the window bracket and direct the air outside.) 4)  If the air filters are clogged, clean or replace the filters.
Remedies that aren't mentioned in the manual, but you might find helpful:
1)  Make sure that there are no kinks in the hose, and that the hose either remains straight or has a gentle curve when directing it into the window bracket.
2)  A sunny window reduces the maximum power and efficiency of the unit.  Placing it in a sunny window reduces your BTUs by at least 600, which means the maximum square footage of cooled space is reduced.  Cooling a kitchen requires at least 4,000 BTUs alone, which is nearly half of the unit's BTUs.  Try to place the unit by a window that receives minimum to no direct sunlight.
Finally, stating the obvious, if the room isn't cooling, the room is too large for the unit.  The PACL90 cools up to 400sqft.  Bear in mind that the air from these portable air conditioners cannot move around corners very well, so try to set it by a window in the central part of the room.

Question about model #253-355080

I woud suggest putting a pan under the unit with a hole in it that you can attach a hose bib and then attach the hose to it and run the hose to a better location...
