Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W50 Digital Camera

Open Question

Memory stick is full, but nothing on it.?!?*@^&%

I think I may have somehow erased my 512 memory stick PRODUO incorrectly, because now it will only allow me to take 6 pictures before the card is full. I have a Mac, and iPhoto does not seem to have an option to clear the card, nor does the Cyber-shot have an option to completely delete the stick, so what should I do? If there are no photos to erase, then it seems I've run out of options.

    (1) The camera is very good but whenever I format, the message "format error" shows.
    (2) Then with card reader to Laptop, in the properties of removable disk, it shows that the used space is full showing blue color and provide 0 bytes for used space and free space.
    (3) and with the software of recovery of removable disk, the device is recognized but only 1 MB of 1G is scanned and nothing (no files) was recovered.
    (4) With ms dos command, F: responses that the required system files was lost. and recommend that the new disk is inserted.
I can't afford a big wallet. Professionals don't want to help me for I am poor.
And if I lost all data, I am destroying my friend's life time memory of her graduation.
I don't care with the memory card but with the photos or pictures.
    Please, help me.

SOURCE: memory

hi there,

what you can do is transfer those pictures to a computer before deleting the pictures in the camera. whenever your take pictures, they are directly stored to the memory card. accordingly to your preferred memory storage. so if in doubt, save your pics to a computer before deleting.

hope this helps.

Just boiught camera last night - everytime I turn the camera on with the memory stick, I get the error "re-insert Memory Card". After doing so, I get the same error time after time.

Make sure that the memory card is the correct type for your camera. Your camera box should have listed on it somewhere either SD, SDHC, XD, MMC, Memory stick or Memory stick ProDuo. If the card type is correct and you have a device that it does work in load it in that device and format it. If it still doesn't work in your camera then try a different card because the one you have is probably bad.

Message on screen no memory space in internal memory what does this mean

Hello. Your camera has 32MB of internal memory to store pictures and it's full. Your camera uses the Memory Stick ProDuo memory card and their available in various sizes. A 1 or 2 GB should be fine and will store several hundred pics.

Sony cyber-shot dsc-w55 memory stick problem. Once i erase the pics through the comp. the memory stick still shows that is full. I have a SanDisk 2.0GB memory stick ProDuo. What can i do?

You need to check again how you are erasing with the PC.Try opening the the memory stick folder on your pc, and deleting some shots one by one.You should be asked each time to confirm you want to delete. You can then check if they have actually been deleted by looking in your recycle bin.
I don't ever clear the memory stick of my cybershot outside of the camera. After download, I delete with the camera. That way I know my card will stay properly formatted for my camera.

Is sandisk memory stickProDuo4GB ok to use on my Cybershot camera

Picture quality depends on camera and photographer's skills.
Memory cared / stick will store data in digital form and thats all an it has nothing to do with picture quality.
So rest assured about memory stick and take good snaps in your trip.
Have a nice time.

Hello, I have a 5.1 MP DSCT33 SONY CYBERSHOT and I have a 512 MB Memory Stick, but for some reason after 12 photo's it states there is no memeory space???? Was fine a montha ago, then suddenely...

perhaps that previous photo's have not been erased or cut and paste to your hard drive , put the memory stick in a cardreader and explore it see how many photo's are on the stick . i don't know th file size of your camera but gues that that is the question (it should be able to store 12 pictures in highest resolution a a 32 mb memory stick.
