Question about Kitchen Ranges

Oven doesn't heat

Frigidaire Gallery series gas range model # FGF379WJCB doesn't heat up properly and at times not at all. Seems to vent all the heat out onto the stovetop when it is heating. Gets orange glow from the bottom of the oven, but when I try to preheat it, it often never heats up, sometimes does heat after an hour of preheating, and sometimes smells like gas is leaking. Have tried heating it up by running the broiler then selecting bake temp, but that doesn't hold heat..it just cools off gradually. Broiler works fine, stovetop works fine.

bought my FGF379WJCB not long ago and it too has an oven tempurature thing going on, doesnt always heat up and if does is slow to. quite annoying when there are 20 friends over for baked dinner and you have to call kentucky ducky! Broiler works. will try the igniter change scenario

I have the same symptom with the same stove. One question I have, though, is that with mine, the oven will eventually heat up to, say 400, and display that temperature but if I turn the oven off then then on again, the actual temperature will be much lower. This seems more of a temperature sensor problem than an ignition problem. Was your's the same?

after resetting the time due to day light savings time the oven and broiler does not work. Checked the heat elements they checked good. On the digital display I select oven and select the temp, the lights show oven working and it clicks showing preheat, but the elements never heat up.

On a Frigidaire Gallery oven, it takes forever for the oven to heat to the set temperature. 20-30 minutes. This seems like a very long time. Once it reaches the temperature the oven temperature is fine,...

Replace the door seals, they are the thin rubber strips around the front of the oven when the door is open. They are simple to change as they just clip on.

Gallery series Frigidaire gas oven not heating up correctly

Hello Hilda, thank you for your post!
There could be a number of
any one of several underlying causes in why the oven is experiencing this
particular issue:
·Convection
heating element
·Thermal cutout
·Thermal oven
sensor
·EOC
(electronic oven control)
·Ignitor,
·Bake or broil
element
·All wired
connections
·Lastly the oven cavity and insulation should be checked to ensure there are no gaps or damages that will leak out the heat.

The parts above will need to be assessed for further evaluation by a technician since it is always a good idea to get the appropriate diagnosis prior to making any unnecessary part replacements.

Frigidaire gallery stove

Hello Debbie - Sounds like the unit has loss some of its heat inside of the oven cavity. This means it cannot reach the proper preheat temperature in the programmed 30 minute timeframe. A technician would be required to further diagnose this concern. They would most likely assess the convection heating element, thermal cutout, thermal oven sensor and all wired connections for repairs. Lastly the oven cavity and insulation should be checked to ensure there are no gaps or damages that will leak out the heat. At t his time, I would recommend contacting a professional to assist you further.

Oven won't heat.

Good Afternoon Gwen - Try reprogramming the range by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn the unit back on. If issue persists, then the unit could possibly be experiencing an issue with a wiring failure, EOC (electronic oven control), sensor probe and/or faulty bake or broil element. I would strongly recommend consulting a professional to narrow down the precise issue before investing in parts that may or may not be the root cause.

I have a frigidaire gallery range that is slow to ignite when the oven is turned on and when it does ignite it"s slow in reaching the set temperature. Also there is a smell of gas.

You would definitely want to seek out a professional technician to diagnose the unit. Gas units are very dangerous if you are not use to working on them. You could have a slow gas connection or flow, a faulty valve, or bad ignition. All would absolutely need a professional to diagnose and repair, this is not a typical DIY job.

most likely you have a bad ignitor,if it glows and it doesn't ignite the flame within 40 seconds the ignitor is bad.just because it glows doesn't mean it's good.

Vent below clock puts out alot of heat

Hi,
That is the oven vent and it will throw alot of heat when the oven is on... that is very normal operation...the oven needs to be vented to for various reasons...

This can be a great benefit in the winter time but is very uncomfortable in the summer...so limit the summer use and use it like crazy in the winter...

The lower burner in the oven of my Frigidaire Gallery Gas Range will not come on. The upper burner works fine.

Frigidaire Gallery Series gas range oven quit working.

most likely, your ignitor went out. when you turn your oven on, is there an orange glow? if not, or if it is not very bright, then your ignitor is bad or going out to the point it is not getting hot enough to turn the gas on. Joe
