SOURCE: washing machine will not spin or drain

look at my post "eco smart won't drain, smells hot". It could be something stuck in very lowest part fo drainage area. you have to remove the motor on bottom of washer to see into this area and remove blockage.

If your basket appears to be off-center in the opening, and there is evidence of the basket rubbing the front of the plastic tub, then you should check out my post at:

http://www.fixya.com/support/t1254687-duet_washer_very_loud_when_spinning

If this is what happened to your washer, the 'burning smell' you refered to was the plastic tub getting hot from the rubbing of the basket (mine smelled the same way, I originally thought there was an electrical failure).

Good Day,
Your washing machine is fully automatic?
the washing cycle is normal?
if yes do the same maybe it will help you.
for the fully automatic washing machine mostly have drain pump, please check the filter of your drain pump, how? remove the cup of your drain pump like a ordinary cup, screw it clock wise or counter clock wise.
Remove drain pump filter and clean it, some hair pins, cotton buds or coins or any small item that coz of clog up.
if your washing machine dont have drain pump ,but fully automatic check the drain motor if running or not? how? open the back cover for top loader washing machine only, select spin cycle and press start to see the drain motor running? the drain motor is like a small box with small wire to pull the lever of the drain to remove water inside, if the motor running or pull the lever of the water pipe but water still inside the washing machine, remove the drain cup or cover and clean it or check if have coin or cloth inside that coz of clog or water stuck,
if the drain pump or drain motor is weak this is will cause and long time draining or totally not running the drain pump or drain motor and its cause of totally stop the cycle of washing machine in rinse time or spin time, because all fully automatic washing machine, after washing cycle the drain pump or drain motor must be on, to remove water before start the next cycle. rinse or spin cycle.

Incoming Power Problem

If the washer won't start check to see if there is power at the electrical outlet which the washer is plugged into. Plug a lamp or radio into the outlet to check it. If the outlet is dead, check the circuit breakers or fuses for the home.

Power Cord

If the washer won't start, check to be sure there is power to the electrical outlet for the home. If that is OK, the power cord itself might be defective. This is rare. You can check the power cord with an Ohm meter for continuity.

My haier automatic washing machine model number HW-C1460TVEME-U will not work and is displaying error no. 7. Can you help?

Try this out
HOW TO FIX ERROR 7 PROBLEM!
This problem is quite common on these machines, especially just after the machine has been moved. As a previous poster has said, Err 7 is a motor error. It is usually because the electrical connector has become detatched from the motor. Here is how to fix it.

* First of all, PLEASE unplug the machine from the wall socket! And switch off the water supply too!
* Pull the machine out from under the counter, and turn it so that you have access to the back of the machine.
* Remove the 3 phillips screws that secure the back plate. You are only removing the small plate immediately behind the drum, not the whole back panel!
* Look through the hole you have just created by removing the panel down towards the bottom of the machine. You will see the motor. Hopefully you will also see a 7 way connector not connected to anything, and a 7-way socket on the motor! (7 way means that it connects 7 different wires!)
* Plug the connector back on to the motor. Don't worry, it will only go one way round, so you can't get it wrong. If the connector looks like it is connected, give it a little wiggle and a push to make sure it is fully home.
* Replace the the small back panel, taking note that the top of the panel goes BEHIND the main back panel, and the bottom of it goes IN FRONT of the main panel. (This could be the other way round, I can't remember!)
* Push the machine back under the counter, making sure that it is level (level it up by turning the 2 feet at the front of the machine until it doesn't wobble), reconnect the water and plug it in to the electricity supply.
* Turn the machine on and attempt to operate the machine. (Top Tip: Select the wool or quick wash to test the machine, otherwise you will have to wait 3.5 hrs for the machine to go through a cotton/linen wash! Unplugging the machine won't help, because it remembers where it was when it gets a power cut!)
hope this helps

Machine will not work

Any green wire is supposed to be connected to electrical ground (personal safety issue), but that would not keep the machine from working. Check the power socket with a working lamp. No power--find the right breaker in the house electrical panel, push the breaker off, then on, then recheck with the lamp. If you get power, then try the machine again. If it works, you are good to go, If the power goes dead again, either the breaker is in trouble and needs to be replaced or there is a heavy short circuit in the machine--usually a bad motor or it is trying to turn a frozen transmission. If that is the case, the motor will be locked, hum loudly, and eventually trip the breaker.

What does E3 fault on the display mean?

Hi,
The reason for “E3” code is machine control is attempting to drive the motor. Visual Check shows motor is not moving. (Locked or Hall Sensor fault.)
Possible causes of ‘E3’ codes:
1. Spin drum stuck – Verify that the spinner moves freely to eliminate this cause.
2. Hall Sensor fails or is loose – When the Hall Sensor fails or becomes dislodged, the control doesn't recognize that the motor is spinning and shuts down. The result will likely be an “E3” code.

3. A poor connection – Check wire harness connector to motor. Unplug connector and pull on each wire. If a wire connector comes loose from the plug, bend locking tab up

In order to troubleshoot a locking tab is not properly seated in the plug connector, the terminals will not fully engage as the connector is plugged into the Motor Terminal Block. Inspect the terminals on the motor side of the connector. Straighten any bent terminals if they exist. Recheck the harness side of the terminal block if any bent terminals are found. Bent terminals can indicate a problem with the locking tab inside the plug .Reconnect harness plug to Motor Terminal Block. Run washer through a quick service cycle (wash and spin) to check motor operation else u might have to replace the board the manufacturers number for your model is 34001496

E3 error code and a lot of vibration when working. I had a technician check the unit and the E3 error code is for the motor. The motor is working fine though and the tech said I needed a new control board....

“E3” code – Machine control is attempting to drive the motor but is not seeing any tach response. Visual Check shows motor is not moving. (Locked or Hall Sensor fault.)
Possible causes of ‘E3’ codes: 1. Spin drum stuck – Verify that the spinner moves freely to eliminate this cause. 2. Hall Sensor fails or is loose – When the Hall Sensor fails or becomes dislodged, the control doesn't recognize that the motor is spinning and shuts down. The result will likely be an “E3” code in the worst case, or “SUdS” if it is only getting a partial rpm reading. Check wire harness connector(s) to motor.

3. A poor connection – Check wire harness connector to motor. Unplug connector and pull on each wire. If a wire connector comes loose from the plug, bend locking tab up

NOTE: If a locking tab is not properly seated in the plug connector, the terminals will not fully engage as the connector is plugged into the Motor Terminal Block. Inspect the terminals on the motor side of the connector. Straighten any bent terminals if they exist. Recheck the harness side of the terminal block if any bent terminals are found. Reconnect harness plug to Motor Terminal Block. Run washer through a quick service cycle (wash and spin) to check motor operation.
see if that helps..... else u might have to replace the board....

My LG washing machine will not run through washing cycle

Locked motor error (LE)

* The connector (3-pin, male, white) in the motor harness is not connected to the connector (3-pin, female, white) of stator assembly
* The electrical contact between the connectores, (3-pin, male, white) in the motor harness and 4-pin, female, white connector in the main PWB assembly is bad or unstable. Or the motor harness between the sator assembly and main PWB assembly is cut (open circuit).
* The hall sensor is out of order/defective.

***. If the hall sensor is defective, replace the entire motor.
