Start it in safe mode by shutting it off and starting it up, and continuously tap the F8 button. When it prompts you with a black screen with white letters click on "safe mode". Then you should be able to restore it

I have a compaq presario qc60-215dx and the mouse and keyboard will not work. I tried restarting, taking battery out, pressing button above mouse and nothing. I had left it idling earlier and when I came...

Most commonly, you either you have an operating system problem or memory issue to cause your system to freeze.

First, boot your system to Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly). Go to System Restore and choose a date when your system worked OK. Note: with System Restore, all your updates will roll back to that date.

To access System Restore in Windows 7: Open the Start Menu. Click on All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and System Restore.

If still a problem, disconnect all cables. Be certain to dispel static electricity by touching metal. Remove the battery. Remove the memory cover. Try reseating (removing and reinserting) your memory (try one module at a time to test).

Hope this helps.

Lap top wont work at all says hard drive problem detected and in safe mode. safe mode comes uo in all 4 corners of screen

You mentioned it boot in safe mode, if it's showing the taskbar where the start button is, then do the system restore. Click start/all programs/accessories/system tools/system restore. Select the previous date that the laptop was working fine the laptop will restart by itself once done. If this process does not resolve the issue, do system recovery (reformat) using the recovery disc that came with the laptop.

Toshiba L655 has been freezing up since downloading new updates from windows. How can I reset the computer to a previous date before the downloads? I have restarted, and removed the battery.

Hello tammy_goss, the best thing to do to "Undo the Update;" is to do a "System Restore."
Follow these instructions carefully, and you will have no problem at all. The first thing you want to do is click on the "Start Button,paul7of9_50.jpg" from the Desktop. Next, click on "All Programs," scroll to find "Accessories," next select the "System Tools."
You will see in the next window that open, System Restore. paul7of9_51.jpg"Now this is very important!"
Once you click on the [System Restore] "shortcut" it will start to look for the last known time of a change in your computer, example: New Updates.
The System restore can take as long as a 1/2 an hour to run, so be patient if you want it to work. "Do not try to do any type of work, don't even touch the keyboard for any reason, just let it run!"
Once the System Restore finds the correct "Date and Time"of the event; choose the Date closest to the time of the occurrence.paul7of9_53.jpg Now once again, there will be a message telling you not to do anything with the computer, and please don't.
The System Restore will "run" for a while, so once again be patient. paul7of9_52.jpg
The computer will then "Shutdown and Restart," Lo-gin if you have to; but!
Do not touch the Keyboard once the Desktop window open, because System Restore is
still running.
Wait! Until there is a message letting you know the Restore of your System was successful!
Take your time.
'I hope all goes well, please let me know by giving a "Helpful Rating." Thanks for using Fix'Ya, paul7of9

Everytime i try to sign into my camcast email account it keeps saying i have the incorrect email address or password but it is right what do i do

Try accessing your email by booting to safe mode with networking. How? Just press F8 while to computer is booting up then scroll down using the down arrow key on keyboard and press enter key to select. This mode will load your desktop with a black background on it. If your able to log in to your email account inside safemode it means that you are having a software problem. to fix that you need to perform system restore to set back the settings to previous date before the problem occur. To preform system restore you need to click start then go to all programs then accessories then system tools and then system restore. just follow the prompts for step by step and then select the date before the problem occur to restore system.

If you cant still log in to your email even if you are already in safe mode, kindly contact your email service provider to reset your password.

Use the system restore tool that you have in your windows, it will take you back to the factory settings if there was a restore point selected previously.

Computer freezes when i plug in usb

If this has all happened recently, go into system restore and restore to a date prior to the problems starting. That will reset all registry values back to that date. Often a quick fix.

If it helps, can you rate answer so that other people know if it's worth trying or not
