It is a bios password.. There should be a jumber pin to reset the password.. Do you know what the motherboard model # is? Or even the pc model number (if there has never been any changes to the hardware)?

Start up password

Hi Lisa,

You must be reffering to the BIOS password. The only way to get past this password prompt is to look for the instructions on how to clear the jumper for that particular computer on Google. It will require you opening the case and dealing with the Motherboard.

Good luck!

Hi bmtyra...

Start your computer
1. Keep pressing "F8" as the laptop computer starts.
This will start the computer in Safe Mode.
2. When the window "Advanced Boot Options" opens, choose "Safe Mode" with arrow key and confim by pressing the Enter key, then PC enters the Safe Mode.
3. Once you are in the Safe mode Click "Administrator" on the Windows login screen.
Take note that you have set the Administrator password before, you need to input the changed password instead of leaving "Password" field blank.

I have a SYNET07526 Prroduct name Netbook. The problem I'm having is that it keeps asking for a password but I dont know it because I only got this thing yesterday, and I never gave it a password

In order to help you with your password problem, I need some details:
-Is the screen asking for password a black screen just at the start up of the computer?
-Is the screen asking for password just after the Windows started, asking for user and password?
-Has the computer available cd/dvd rom in order to use it as a boot device?
-What is the operating system you use on this computer, if the computer haas ever started? (Windows XP, Vista, Win 7)

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

Can' get back on computer

Hi. Is it the bios password or Windows password? If it's the bios jumper 1 on the mother board is the bios reset. Just reset the jumper and all shoul be good. If its windows it may be an administrator password you had when you set up your pc that being the case, depending on how you setup windows you may be able to press ctrl, alt, delete to get to user menu and press enter, alternativly clear the box and press enter.

I cannot get into my computer

Hello wii-will,

You will need to boot in safe mode (f8 after restart) and try the administrator account. If you do not know the the password for any account you will need to create a boot disk to reset the password.

This is a good place to start:

I have used this many times to reset passwords on XP systems:

I FOR GOT MY PASS WORD AND USER NAME.WHAT DO I DO?

You can first try to boot the computer in "Safe Mode" (tap the F8 key when you first start the computer & you will be given the option to boot in safe mode)

When Windows starts in safe mode you will be given the option to use the Administrator account. Most of the time there is no pasword on this account , so it should take you right into Windows.

At that point you can goto the control panel and remove the password on your account!
