Question about Lexmark X2600 InkJet Printer
Normally your scanner should come with an utility to do this.
Otherwise, you can fire up most drawing programs (even the good old MSPAINT by going Start > Run > MSPAINT.EXE > OK ) and you'll find a menu item, usually under File or Image (in MSPAINT case, it's File) labeled "Acquire" or "Scan" or "From Camera/Scanner".
If the scanner is correctly installed that should open the image acquisition dialog for either the scanner or Windows TWAIN. Set the image up as desired and confirm. The image can now be copied and pasted into Microsoft Word.
Depending on Microsoft Word version and extensions installed, you will find a shortcut to do the same thing directly (without editing possibility) from the Word menu: Insert > Picture > From Scanner or Camera.
