Question about Computers & Internet
A problem i have:- my son bought me a LACIE BIG DISK 2.0 USB. i can
get it to mount but can't access the drive. Have set-up as instructed and
when i try to access to format drive to FAT32 the computer hangs and
requires reset before operation. Have attempted various fixes but nothig has worked so far. Please adivise
when I conect my lacie big disk usb 2.0, it says detect tusb 6250 boot device but my win xp service pack 2 needs driver to install it what can I do about it.
For anyone with a Big Disk drive that doesn't get recognised by Windows and gets a TUSB 6250 message in Device Manager, the cause is very likely to be the power supply. Although the drive will be powered up, it is not spinning at the correct speed. I tried all of LaCie's technical support suggestions, some of which are outlined above and none worked. They finally suggested getting a new power supply. This solved the problem (Wattac, £22). This problem has affected a lot of LaCie Big Disk owners...

Please try the following:
# Disconnect all cables connected to the drive.
# Connect the power cable to the drive.
# Connect the USB-cable. First to the drive. Then to the computer.
If the drive is detected correctly the problem was probably caused by improper shutdown or un-mount (unplugging the cable without dismounting first, etc.). When this has happened, the USB-interface needs to reset itself properly. After this, reconnection should be no problem.

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive
Test the leads that attach to your ((hard drive from the motherboard)) or replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your ((motherboard to hard drive))
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they are probably old and faulty a computer needs its connections to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
hope this helps
