These are normally connected with a chrome waist & overflow assembly that passes down into the floor where it connects into the plastic piping with the use of an 1.5" trap adapter.

All that can be seen on the finished product is the chrome parts.

Hello once I've turned my stand alone bath taps off the water keeps leaking out of the shower part even when the switching device is push were it's supposed to be any ideas

You have a bad O ring, and need to replace the cartridge, you will need to shut the water off before attempting to change the cartridge, you can shut the main water supply off, or you can shut the water off behind the surround at the mixing valve, take the cartridge to your local hardware store to match it up. Please remember to shut the water off !!!!
Hope this helps.

Air in bathroom cold water pipes

You have to install anti knock pipes into your plumbing, it's quite common. Go to the local home center you can by pre made or make your own as I did when remodeling my basins. Good Luck..

Hi I have a jacuzzi. I would like to connect it DIY

You can get 2 types of Jacuzzi baths, 1 with just a pump which just jets the water via a small pump or 1 with the pump and elements that heats the water aswell as pumps the water through the jets. Because the 1 with the elements has a higher amp rating you need to run a cable from your distribution board to your bath but the 1 without the elements you will be able to tap off the nearest socket to the bath, you will be coming from your socket to a fused spur outlet, it would be better to get a switched fused spur outlet as you will be able to isolate the bath when not in use just by switching off the switch. from the spur outlet you will be wiring it into your motor on the bath, it should say the rating of the pump in amps on the tally plate of the motor or on the manual. For example if it says the motor draws 2 amps you will be putting a 3 amp fuse into your spur outlet so if there is a fault with the motor the fuse will blow instead of tripping the whole socket circuit. All jucuzzi baths has to be connected to the RCD side of your distribution board. If you are tapping off a socket don't worry about the RCD because all sockets should be on the RCD anyway, to check that the socket is connected to the RCD plug something into the socket you are tapping off of and press the test button on the RCD, the RCD should trip and while this is tripped check the lamp or whatever you plugged in shoud be off. The Fused spur should be fitted outside of the bathroom.

Low pressure from immersion heater to mixer taps on bath can i fit a pump on the pipe work leading to the bath

Hello,

You need to have an higher head of water on the tank that feeds the cylinder that the immersion heater is fitted to. Put the tank on a framework say 3 foot above its present level.

Was the tap shut-off very tight and the tap is turning but the main shaft may not be turning. Check the hot tap mechanism and compare it to the cold tap.

Need to fit ideal standard lever cartridge to mixer tap

hi you 1st need to isolate both hot & cold water supplies to bath.lift the lever up & underneath the lever you will see s screw unscrew it & be careful not let it go down the plug hole, so a good idea at this point is to put in the plug!!!

Once the screw is loosened you will be able to remove the lever.
then there is a cover which will need to be undone & removed seeing as its gold you will have to be careful undoing this as it may be stiff, sometimes a few taps with the endle of a srewdriver handle will loosen it enough so you can remove it. once this is removed you will gain access to the hexagonal part of the cartridge, so yo uwill need to have the appropriate spanner or adjustable spanner. you will need to hold against the tap when undoing it so as the whole tap body doesnt move.once the cartridge is removed the new unit can be fitted in reverse order.it sounds simple but being Gold you have to be careful you dont damage it whilst attempting to remove the old one. Tip put some silicone gtrease around the o rings on the new unit as it will make it easier to remove if you ever have to remove it again?

Kindly

can you check some other source of hot water? if the pressure there is ok?..if it is, then the problem is on the new tap that you fitted.
