I would send the unit in to Bose. They have a flat rate repair service and they offer trade in value if you want to upgrade to a newer model. quoted from http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/customer_service/shopping/return_and_exchange.jsp

  • Call 1-800-999-2673 to obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number. This number helps us quickly track the status of your return
  • Pack the product in its original box. If you do not have the original box, mention this to the customer service representative when you call
  • Write the RMA number clearly on the outside of the box
  • Be sure to use a package-shipping service such as United Parcel Service, Federal Express or the United States Postal Service that is able to track shipments. Ship the package to:
    • Bose Corporation
    • Returns and Exchanges
    • 2000 Carolina Pines Drive
    • Blythewood, SC 29016
    • ATTN: RMA# __________

Bose radio will not turn on

You didn't mention which model of the Wave Radio you have but since you have a 9V battery it narrows it down to a couple of models. You might want to check the Q4 transistor (2SC3792) for a short on the two outide pins. With the power disconnected, measure with a multimeter the resistance between the two outside pins of the Q4 transistor. If you measure anything between 0-3 ohms it is shorted. Replace this part with a similar part or you could replace it with the new Bose recommended part - 2SD438F-MP-E but it is very hard to obtain. I have used an 2SC2655 instead and had no problems so far with the radio. This radio also came in totally dead with no display nor the radio working.

My 10+ year old Bose wave radio/alarm on fritz

Replace the 3 AA batteries that maintain memory & backup alarm function. That just may do the trick.

I have a bose awrc1p radio display light changes

This could be the battery causing the display to act strangely. If the radio still works audio-wise, the following should fix the display: The older model wave radios have either a 9v or 3 AA batteries (accessible from the bottom). Remove any battery, and reset the system by unplugging the power cord for about 40 seconds. Plug it back in without the battery attached. If the problem goes away- replace the battery or batteries. (which is only there to hold the clock time, presets etc when not plugged in) BTW- you'll have to set the clock, alarm, presets etc after this procedure. If the problem doesn't go away, call Bose. I think they can repair this for $99 and/or offer a new one as a trade-in discounted.

My 10 year old Bose wave radio quit working.

There's a line fuse inside the radio, mounted on a PC board. CAUTION: disconnect the set from power before opening the case or poking around inside. The fuse could be bad, but these sets are notorious for losing the power transformer. If the fuse is ok then you are looking at a $100 repair fee from Bose. You might want to check out the new HD radios -- better sound, MUCH lower price.

Bose radio display doesn't show at all

I just posted a similar problem and did 2 more minutes of research on this site to figure it out. Hold down the 'cd mode' and press the on/off button. This turns the display on or off.
