My guess would be that whatever lens your using is causing that. The black edges are basically caused because the lens may not be fit the camera correctly, causing the camera to "see" part of the lens itself when taking a photo.

Why is a black border around my developed film?

The black border around your film is the part that did catch light. The light on dropped on a negative film comes up black. If the cassette the file was in had a leak, and it was in bright light, that could be the culprit. But if a second silk also has a black border, check the camera, if there is a possibility light can come in on the back.

it is not unknown for film developing sites to with hold good photos so take another practice roll and have it developed somewhere else
That will prove either the camera or the developer

No pictures on film when we take it in to be processed

If the "edge numbers" are present on the developed film it is not a processing error. Most likely the film is not advancing, film was not loaded properly of the shutter is not working.

Black line across top of all my developed pictures

You have light leak somewhere to the film.
Usually from the bad film door seal.

Maxxum camera no color

I think your camera had a microchip in it that changes modes. I could be wrong, I can't remember exactly what model it was. Take the chip out or reset it in the menu. How old is the film you are using? There is some film that is color film but a black and white emulsion. That can be developed in color processing.

Pix have a thin black line on top

PROBABLY NOTHING! BUT FIRST WE NEED TO KNOW SOME THINGS. HOW OLD WAS THE FILM? WHERE DID YOU TAKE THE FILM TO GET DEVELOPED? HAS THIS CAMERA DONE THIS BEFORE? SO MANY QUESTIONS AND WE NEED TO KNOW THE ANSWERS BEFORE WE CAN DECIDE WHAT IS REALLY WRONG! FIRST WE NEED TO GET THE SAME FILM, SAME ASA, SAME SPEED, UNLESS IT WAS OLD AND THEN ITS A RED FLAG RIGHT THERE,BUT IF NOT ON WE GO, SAME PICTURES, WELL NOT THE SAME PLACES SAME NUMBER,JUST MIX UP A BUNCH, AND THE SAME DEVELOPER, WITH THE SAME INSTRUCTIONS ,IF ANY, AND FINALLY THE INSPECTION TO SEE IF THE SAME LINE IS THERE OR NOT, IF IT IS ,NO WORRY, I HAVE AN IDEA ON IT, BUT NOT RIGHT NOW AND SPOIL THE FUN! FIRST WE HAVE TO SEE IF IT DOES IT EVERY TIME THE SAME WAY AND THEN WE CAN SPRING THE CONCLUSION THAT IS MIND BOGGLING! CONTINUE ON WITH THE GOOD WORK AND WHEN READY, REPLY BACK TO: ARCLIGHT1217 WITH RESULTS. REMEMBER- KEEP EVERYTHING AS CLOSE TO THE FIRST SHOOT AS POSSIBLE. OH ALRIGHT, YOU CAN WEAR DIFFERENT CLOTHES! ALSO NEED TO KNOW THE TYPE OF CAMERA PLEASE,UNLESS THAT'S IT AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE? EOS REBELG11?

Film developing clear

Hello

This problem could have a number of causes,

To check to see if it is a camera fault of developing fault you could try using a cheap colour film in the camera and getting it developed at a normal photo processor.
This will determine in which half of the process the fault lies.
If the pictures from the colour film are the same then it must be a camera usage problem or fault.
If the pictures are ok from the colour film then it will be a problem in either the film being used, developing problem (poor mix of chemicals etc).

This will just speed up the diagnosis a bit.
