Hi, Normally you click start then right click My Computer or Computer in Win7, click properties, on the next screen click device manager top left, then you should see an exclamation mark next to the sound sound icon, open this with the + sign, right click the sound card and click update driverno longer have sound on my pc - 2_bing.gif, this should then search online, if it doesnt then right click the the sound card again and click uninstall. After youve done this then at the top click ACTION and the SCAN FOR HARDWARE CHANGES, it will then search online for the latest driver, this one will work.

Thanks Mark ;-)

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

No sound on speakers except on itunes

I cannot find drivers on the Gateway Support site, which usually means the machine is no longer supported, which also usually means the Operating System is no longer supported. If this machine is running XP, or earlier, beware. It is no longer supported, and hackers will be looking for these machines to infect. I recommend you get a newer machine, or don't try to get on the Internet with this one.

if speaker icon no longer appears go to setting on control panel, choose sound and verify if controller is there. Or re-install the sound drivers from hp web site, surely it will solve the problem. good luck

IBM ThinkPad T60. No sound & internal wireless modem is dead

Sounds like you need to reinstall the sound driver, the should be located on your computer, or you can download then from IBM's website

XP drivers: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-62855

Vista: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67218

Hope this helps, if so please rate accordingly.

Thanks,
David

Sound only works with headset. No longer comes

If the sound is working through another device then it seems that the internal speakers are bad. Because if the sound card was bad you wouldn't have any sound whatsoever, same goes for drivers. Probably just some bad speakers. If you have some other external speakers try plugging them into the headphone port and see if that helps.

Make sure you have the correct driver for your sound card.

(A good way to know which sound card you are using is "Aida32"
