Today I synced my Sansa and it removed all but two of my playlists. I couldn't checked my sync setting and confirmed the playlists were still scheduled to sync. I tried several times with no luck. I formated the Sansa but now it won't sync ANY of the playlists?! I can add individual songs to the device but no playlists.

The Sansa e280 can be operated in 2 ways of USB connection modes: MSC or MTP.
In MSC mode, viewing the player as a removable disk, the "copy
and paste" or "drag and drop" method will work.
In MSC mode always through the "safely remove hardware" icon, click to remove the player's disk before taking out the USB cable.
In MTP mode, operating the player in software like Windows Media Player: under Library or Sync,
first create a playlist
next sync the playlist.
In MTP mode, follow up the warning or text in the software that gives permission when to disconnect the player.
2) If Windows Media Player doesn't run automatically, run it.
3) On the left side of Windows Media Player, right-click on your Clip and select "Set Up Sync".
4) If you don't want songs to be synced automatically to your Clip when you connect it, uncheck "Sync this device automatically."
5) If you do want songs to be synced automatically, but not your entire library, check "Sync this device automatically", then click on the playlists you DON'T want to sync under the "Playlists to sync" list, and then click on the "Remove" button.
Check the version of the player:
Go to Settings > System Info.
Information for the firmware version and SD cards support: For 01.xx.xx firmware (c200 version 1) - up to 2GB microSD cards For 03.xx.xx firmware (c200 version 2) - up to 4GB microSDHC cards Note: Firmware is not interchangeable.
For deleting files connect your player with the computer. When running Windows Media Player 11:
1. Check the automatic SYNC routine for your player. How to get to the SET UP SYNC When viewing WMP11 in full mode select SYNC or LIBRARY in the top of WMP11, seeing the Sansa player listed on the left. Right click on the player and select SET UP SYNC...to go to the SYNC options.
When "Sync this device automatically" is selected, all playlist in the computers' Library will be transferred to the player again, even the previous deleted files. Disable this function to prevent unwanted SYNC.
2. Remove playlists from the library in set up sync, to get the playlists you would like to keep on the player.
plug in the music player to the pc with usb a cable then open my computer and double click removable drive then copy paste the songs which u want to transfer to the player and then safetly remove the device and enjoy the song which u get in the portable player
Sansa MP3 players have 2 modes, MTP and MSC. In order for playlist to show up properly on your player it must be in MTP mode. First, go to settings then USB mode or just mode( depending on the player). then choose MTP. Once it's in this mode, connect to you PC. Open Windows Media Player and go to the library. Right click on the song of your choice then go down to "add to" then click on additional playlist. Type the name of your songs and click ok. Right Click on the next song, click on "add to" then click on the name of you playlist. Continue this until you playlist is complete. Click on the Sync tab at the top and then click on sync settings. make sure "sync device automatically" is checked off. scroll through the large white box and only check off the playlist you want on the player. Click ok and the playlist will start to sync to the player. Once complete, disconnect the player select music then scroll down to playlist and you will see the name of your playlist...
I hope that helps

Creating Playlist To create a playlist for Windows Media Player, follow these steps: 1. Launch Windows Media Player. 2. Clear the List pane by clicking the Clear List pane button. 3. Click the arrow below the Library Tab then select Create Playlist. 4. Type in the name of your Playlist. Loading Content 14 5. Click Songs from Library then drag them from the Details pane to the List Pane. 6. To rearrange the songs, drag them up or down in the List pane. 7. Click Save Playlist. Transferring Playlists To transfer playlists to your Sansa player, follow these steps: 1. Connect your Sansa player to the computer. 2. Select Sync digital media files to this devices using Windows Media Player on initial connection. 3. Right-click on Your Sansa Player, then select Set Up Sync. Loading Content 15 4. Select Personal Playlists from the drop down menu on the left pane. 5. Highlight the playlists you want to transfer to your Sansa player, click Add, then Finish. 6. Synchronization will start as soon as you click Finish. To see the Sync progress, click on Sync Results.
First you need to set your Sansa m250 mp3 player to MTP mode:
) Tap your menu button and select "Settings" > "USB". 2) On this screen, make sure that there is a check next to "Auto Detect" and NOT "MSC".
Note: Music that was transferred to the player in "MSC" (Mass Storage Class) mode will not be accessible once the player is put into MTP mode.
However, the music can still be accessed by switching the player back to MSC mode.
To transfer a playlist using Windows Media Player version 10:
- Make sure device is showing as an "audio device" and in MTP mode - Create a playlist by right clicking a song in the library, add to>additional playlists>new or by saving a now playing list - Select the Sync tab and click "Sync settings" - Check "Synchronize device automatically" - Set "View" to "All Playlists" - Place a check next to the playlists they want to transfer to device - Media Player should then sync those lists once you hit OK.
Once you Sync for the first time a new folder "Playlists" will appear in your m250 using Windows Explorer. Once that folder is created you can even use Windows Explorer alone to create playlists, all you have to do is right click on a song and choose create a playlist. Double click on playlist > Reference Tab, on the window you simply drag and drop your songs.
When you turn on the player, select the music menu, and then scroll down until the playlists logo appears - select that and then your playlist name should be there.
If it still isn't there, then the songs that you tried to sync have some sort of licensing restriction on them that does not allow them to be synced to a portable device - wmp will show them as synced, but alas - they will never actually show up on the player.
