Re: sony trinitron model 32S22
This problem is related to the HV section of the TV or the picture . The fact that you have sound means that the power supply is working and this means that the HV section is partially working. You can not repair this yourself, because you will need to test points where the voltage can reach 40KV that is 40,000 volts. I would suggest that you take the TV to a qualified TV repair shop.

I HAVE A SONY TRINITRON KV-36HS510. IM HAVING A PROBLEM,ITS NOT SHOWING A PIC, AND BLINKING 7 TIMES THEN PAUSE FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS THEN IT WILL BLINK 7 MORE TIMES,I CAN HEAR AUDIO BUT CANNOT SEE PIC. COULD YOU PLEASE HELP ME OUT ,I'VE TRIED CUTTING THE TV OFF FOR ABOUT 6 HOURS AND CUTTING IT BACK ON,SAME RESULTS, THANKS
if you cant repair a tv take it ot a w/shop and have it checked. let your tech check that an ht voltage of 95-105 is reaching a line transistor, also a transistor be checked for leaks, also let him check a line transformer, and the surrounding tin capacitors for leakages and change of values.
Your local TV repair guy should be able to go in and recharge the picture tube. Just had mine done for about $165 and it looks good as new (and this was on a KV-32s22 that we picked up at a yard sale). Well worth it.
It is repairable.Open the TV and check the fuse and then the flyback transformer for any loose soldering. check for obvious burnt transisters, resistors, capacitors etc. the flyback is the component that has a wire to the picture screen on the inside of the TV. Be careful. Capacitors and picture tubes retain high current. If you don't know what your doing take it for repair.
Normally this is not a costly repair. This is because it could be the vertical coupling capacitor. However if it is the yoke transformer it could get costly. There is no way for you to repair this problem if you do not have a background in electronics. So I would suggest taking the TV to a repair shop to get an estimate. If the estimate is within the range you are willing to spend let them fix it.
Hii.... first I like to know the chassis of yor KV27FS100..
sound like problem with regulated parts block.....and can more helpfull if you count the blinking of the LED....sony have selft diagnostic at the LED Blinking.....
IT SOUNDS LIKE THE VERTICAL I.C. NEEDS SOLDERING. WHEN IT LOOSES THE PICTURE DOES IT HAVE ERROR CODE 2 ? THE RED LED BLINKING 2 THEN 2 THEN 2. THAT IS LOSS OF VERTICAL. IF YOU SMACK THE SIDE OF THE SET.(NOT TO HARD) WITH OPEN PALM ON LOWER BACK IF THE PICTURE COMES BACK IT IS THE VERTICAL IC THAT NEEDS TO BEE SOLDERED. DON.
