Question about Canon PIXMA MX300 All-in-One Printer

I bought a new computer, i do not have the disk for printer, printer works, although i cannot get the fax to work, any ideas?

I would advise going here first:

And input your operating system in the SELECT OS box and see if you can download the software for this model. It may install the fax operation drivers for you and should include all software that was on the CD.

Hi Arnold, firstly you need to install the printer, you can achieve this by going to Printers and Faxes on your start menu [click], next on the pane to your left click, Add A Printer, the Wizard will lead you through the process.
If the Printer is locally attached, ask that your computer automatically detect it, otherwise you'll have to manually specify the location of the Printers Drivers...

I have recently purchased an Epson SX415 and when installing the printer using the cd it fails at the communication point. I am running XP and I have downloaded drivers from the Epson site and the printer...


It could be you usb port acting up. You may need to gointo device mode and remove you usb ports Then restart the computer so it can reinstall them. Did you old printer work with the desktop?

I cannot get my fax to work. I recently changed computers. It prints fine


Sounds like your new computer is not recognizing the fax.

Go to: start>controlpanel>printers/faxes

There you will see an option to add a fax printer.

Add your fax there.

If your fax is not listed as an option to add, the drivers for it with need to be downloaded of the installation disk.


If you have no disc, the drivers can be obtained through the Brother web page as per below:


For additional assistance, consult both the Help program in your computer of the start button again, and your fax manual.

Hp4300 series disc won't work with my new hp window vista computer my printer is a 4315v


Please perform the steps given below and check if yuo are able to fax

1. Open a MS Word Document.
2. Click File -> Send to -> Recipient using a fax modem.
3. Follow the instructions given in the fax wizard. Ensure that you select the HP all-in-one as the fax program.
Now check whether you are able to send the fax.

Try setting up the Fax once again

HP L7680 All in one will not send faxes from PC S/W interface


After much thrashing, here is the solution to the problem. Somehow the printer drivers lost coordination with the corresponding Windows supporting programs. You would think that reinstalling the printer drivers would fix the problem, AND IT DOES, but there are 3 tricks:

· Uninstall everything associated with this printer with the install disk in the computer (this may really not be necessary, but it worked for me). [This is also the solution when the a window comes up asking for TrayApp to be inserted using a disk—they mean the hp install disk].

· After the un-install, MAKE SURE you ALSO delete the printer using the control panel. This is critical. If this doesn’t happen, the corresponding Windows software is somehow hooked to the wrong thing when the reinstall happens. Then reboot the system.

· Install the new drivers with the printer off, and the USB disconnected from the printer. Reboot the system [not sure the reboot is necessary]. After the computer has booted, connect the USB, and power up the printer. The computer will recognize the printer and put the printer icon in the Control Panel.

It turns out that correcting the driver mis-coordination by BOTH uninstalling the printer drivers and taking the printer out of the control panel, then properly reinstalling solves BOTH the fax problem, and the protection fault problem! Amazing such a little thing can make such a difference!

Do have dial up modem if Yes you can use to send a fax from ur computer using the "Lexmark Fax Solutions".And the connection should From the wall jack to the computer dial up modem line in and Computer should be on o recive fax and to send Fax..If You have DSL modem you cannot send or receive faxes you need special setup...

Plug the printer in to cumputer if you have not done so. New hardware will come up and ask if you have CD or select from list. Choose select from list. Select Maker - Canon Select Model - click on install - you now have a working connection. The alternative to he above is to go to Start/Printers and faxes - install new printer follow the prompts as above.
