It would seem that this unit has had a conversion done from Nat to LPG or visa versa..the main gas valve and burners need to be adjusted

My pilot turns on but the burners never start up after I turn on the switch on my Teledyne 2 Pool Heater. Any suggestions on whether the burners may be clogged or defective or if it is the switcÉ

Hi,
You have a bad flame sensor or a bad burner graound... the gas valve porves the flame by passing a very small current through the pilot flame... yes flame does conduct electric...if the sensor is dirty or bad or the ground wire to the burner is corroded the gas valve does not sense the current and "see" the flame.

I replaced the ignition transformer in my Teledyne Laars epc325 pool heater and cleaned everything. When I switch the heater on the burners all work fine but they only cycle on for about 10 seconds then...

This is probally your ignition wire is bad and not reading flame at the pilot or your pilot is bent or something so that when the pilot lights the flame isn't hitting the sensor probe at the pilot. When looking under the heater use a mirror so if you get roll out of the flame you don't get burned. Good luck and be careful.

Burner cycles on and off within 2-5 seconds. What could the problem be? Model Teledyne Laars LLD250N

Sounds like the flame sensor. If the sensor doesn't see a flame, it shuts off. Good luck...Lee

Laars Teledyne Pool heater flames on for 2 seconds, shuts off

You have no flame rectification.....LLD series heaters check for a signal through the flame to ground; if the module does not detect this signal, it go through two more trials for ignition and then lock out the module. There should be a flame rod and it may need cleaning. I use steel wool.
