Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

Washing machine stops working halfway through a cycle. The drum rotates a little bit,but not at a high rate. The pump works. But it just stops. It never finishes a cycle.

yes u can manually select the spin cycle, but it only turns a couple of times and stops. The pumps works for a while until all the water is drained and then the cycle stops. The out of balance fault!whats that, because the drum has a lot of movement, and when the machine used to work it used to really bang about.
    Cheers nick.

Hi nick, 1st open door of unit and see if u can move the steel drum where the clothes go gently up and down. these drums should have no movement because they r fixed at the back with bearings. when most front loaders have bearing faults the machine makes a banging noise on the spin cycle. please reply and i can help u more.

Indesit WDG1295W. Why doesn't it drain?

The pump and connecting lines could be choked with debris the filter didn't catch.

Code c9

Reset using Off-2-Off.
Tested with Gentle rinse: water OK, but no drum rotation. Tested Short Spin: Pump OK but no rotation.
Opened door (first time) and rotated drum by hand - smooth.
Shut door carefully and tested short spin: OK.
Suspect: door safety switch.
or I suggest you look at your instruction manual (or take the link below) and look at the fault bit of the book.

You could perhaps try to follow instructions for the "The washing machine doesn't work" .

Are you able to actually programme the machine? i.e. The display will still show you the programme length etc

It may sound silly, but is the door closed properly etc

Is there a way of resetting the machine, or maybe turn it completely off for a little while, and turn it back on?

If all this doesn't work, i suggest you phone either AEG, or the person/company you got the machine from, and get them to have a look at it.

Also, was it working properly, before it stopped working - i.e. Would it drain properly ?

I hope all this helps you. Source(s):

Half way through the cycle we get the E20 message. We drain the machine and check the filter. The rotating bit at the back of the filter keeps coming off. We put it back and then the machine works for one...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

The rotating bit at the back of the filter is the drain pump/motor ;-0)
Don't try to glue the impeller blades back on, believe me it won't work. There is only one cure- have the pump replaced!

Started having a noisy rinse & spin cycle, then stopped.

Open the washer door and spin the drum by hand, if it feels rough or noisy and rumbling, then the main drum bearings have failed. There should be little or no noise when you spin drum
This is a major repair, and I would not recommend a D.I.Y solution.
Other possibility is there is something in the pump, but you would only hear this when the pump is working.

Plz rate my comments.

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Rate me pl.....if helped.

PE235 gets stuck on draining and won't go to spin

what you have is whats called a magnetic pump it should feel jerky to rotate but should be free without locking up, this pump is designed this way to avoid little things getting blocked in it. if the pump is free from blockages and works electrically, then the pump is not a problem, the problem sounds like the motor or the motor control board pcb which is located at the side of the timer (i think on that model) first check the motor carbons for wear, the armature for signs of burning or sparking, then the module for any signs of scorching etc, difficult thing to diagnose without test equipment but you now have somewhere to start from when looking hope i have helped a little
