Yes and no, I know this seems like non-answer, but in those Toshiba models internal mics were optional, some had them, some didn't. If you look at the front panel in the center you will see a small hole, thats where it should be. If your settings are correct in control panel and you still get nothing, try an external mic with an analog connector (looks likes a small headphone jack) Thx =)

SKYPE MICROPHONE PROBLEM
If the person cannot hear you then, either your microphonedriver not installed or not working OR the microphone is not configured inSkype.
To test your microphone then click on Start - All Programs - Accessories -Entertainment - Sound recorder. Then record your voice and then play it back.If this is OK then the microphone need to be configured in Skype.
To configure the microphone - Open Skype - Tools - Options -Audio Settings for the Microphone THEN click on Save.

Hi, My laptop is: TOSHIBA SATELLITE A205-S5851 When using the Skype, I can hear perfectly but no one can hear me, I am not using an external microphone, can someone help?

This model Toshiba does not have a built-in microphone.
For people to hear you, you need a mocrophone.
You need to attach an external microphone to the Toshiba and configure Skype to use the external microphone.

Does the toshiba a145 s4537 have external microphone or do I need to buy one??

Hi mwusa3,

The Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527 Computer model does not come with a Microphone built on it. However, it does have a Microphone Input Port where you can connect a Microphone and use it. Hence, you will need to purchase an external Microphone and connect to the Microphone Input Port to use it.

Hope this helps.

Please post back if you require further assistance.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Hi there,
Did you mean if Toshiba Satellite A205-S4617 integrated Microphone? If so, then the answer is no, the Laptop is not included or integrated with any microphone on it (not built on microphone).

you can read the detail and product spec here:

Microphone is not working

You need to check that all of your sound devices are enabled. Most laptops will shut down certain devices when on battery to conserve power.

There are setting available to alter the microphone gain in the sound settings part of the control panel. Under Sounds and Audio Devices Properties. Check the sound recording section under audio, make sure the microphone is enabled and that the volume slider is not at minimum. Under XP there is a test hardware button that should help.
