Question about Minolta X-370S 35mm SLR Camera

1 Answer

Minolta X-370 35mm SLR camera won't turn on

When I was taking pictures on my camera the light meter disapeared and the camera would not take any pictures. I thought it was dead batteries but when I replaced them the camera still had the same problem. I could go get it repair but I would rather fix it myself.

Pictures are dark

First, check if you're taking the lens cap off. If you're taking it off, then check your exposure. See if your light meter responds to changes in illumination. If everything seems fine, then check if the aperture of the lens works as intended. Then, without a lens nor film in bulb mode, check for the mirror and shutter to work properly. If the light meter, aperture, mirror or shutter seem to flaw, then get your camera serviced by an experienced camera repair technician.

I would like to know if a 24mm Nikon f2.8 Ai Manual Focus Lens will work on a Nikon N75 SLR Camera

Yes and no. It will fit and you can take pictures with it. You'll have to focus manually, of course, and you won't get any exposure help from the camera's light meter. You'll have to use the camera in the Manual exposure mode, setting the shutter speed on the camera body and the aperture by turning the ring on the lens and, as I said earlier, without any help from the camera's light meter.

When you put the film in the meter thats shows you how many exposures you have left stays on the s instead of going to one. The film is being pulled properly and is acting normal but even the sound doesnt...

Hi,

I would definitely be concerned that the film is not advancing. I have a Minolta that has the same problem. I missed many a picture because I didn't pay attention to the meter showing the film advancing. I would just make sure the film is advancing by taking a couple shots with the back open before closing it.

If you are positive the film is advancing, it really doesn't matter what the meter says as long as the film is stopping after each exposure.

Finally, if the film is advancing , but the meter is not, and you want it to, you will need to see an experienced repairman to correct it.

Good luck.

Thanks for using Fixya.

I have minolta maxxum 7000 35mm slr camera, i have a problem with it, that when i take picture they come out too dark to see. why do this happen with the pictures?

Set your exposure mode to either P ( Program ) and take pictures.
If the picture still come out dark, you have the meter cells that are bad.

Wont take photographs.

Try using the advance lever to complete a full stroke. You don't need film in the camera. It may just re-**** the shutter.

Advance lever jam

Yes, If you get metering lights in the viewfinder display that go out when you press the release fully to take a picture, it is the cap.
