Re: Magenta doesn't print
Many printer have a problem with the magenta cartridge...The better way to solve your problem is to replace it again...if you know someone that have the same printer as you or a reseller who will be very nice to try one of is own!!!! After that you will be able to go futher in your search...

Before you take drastic measures, please do things that don't damage your printer. It could be there is just a drop of air in your printer system. Remove the Magenta cartridge as told in the manual. Then put a drop of cleaning fluid in the little pipe you see in the bottom of the cartridge holder. then try to run a cleaning stage. If it won't run without a cartridge, it would be ok to put a empty one in. After some cleaning run's and a adjustment run, you than can place the new cartridge. Be sure you removed the sticky tape under the cartridge, and always before placing a new cartridge, when it is still in he plastic bag, shake the cartridge. Never shake without the cartridge in a bag!! because the ink will be overall in your place ant clothing.
It appears the magenta print head nozzles are blocked. Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles. If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive. It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.
The other week I had the black print head clog up, requiring daily nozzle deep cleaning [a normal 'ocassional' maintenance function]. Thought I needed a new Print head, so anything worth a try.
I loaded up an old black cartridge [I load all my own......always have] with Isopropyl Alcohol and ran deep clean on that cartridge a couple of times, then repeat printed [6 times] a page full of the number 8 in about half inch character size, to get the alcohol through the nozzles. then Deep cleaned again 3 times, to wash it through the print head.
I reloaded the normal ink filled cartridge and ran the '8' page again till I got good black output. It has now been working without problem, daily, for over a week. Clearly if it's a Magenta only problem, the cleaning as described above would be a bit different, as the magenta is one of 4 colour cartridges.
My printer does quite a lot of work, and was bought at least a couple of years ago, being used daily for alpha numeric and photo printing work. This was the first difficulty I experienced with it.

it seems that your cartridge nozzle is dryed out u can try to clean via the hp tool software or via the menu on your printer if that not works try a new one and if that is not working than call hp for support
sounds lke your yellow nozzle not working properly...had same issue on lexmark printer, ended up geting this epson...learnt from my mistakes...perhaps it ran dry? or you left the yellow cartridge out longer than the rest....only you might know what happened
Here's what you should do.
Remove all ink cartridges.
Get some rubbing alcohol, preferrably 91% proof (leaves less moisture)
Get a couple normal paper towels.
Check each cartridge for dried ink and remove it using an alcohol wetted paper towel. (The deep cleaning procedures aren't always effective.)
The gold contacts on each cartridge should be gold when you are done.
Use the same procedure on the gold contacts of the ink cartridge housing inside the printer.
Take your time, do it well.
If that does not fix the problem, then do the following.
Switch the black and magenta cartridge. Some printers won't print when you do this, other printers don't know the difference. If your printer is the later, then attempt a print job using a page that has a line of both black and magenta text.
If you see a black print, then the problem is your magenta cartridge (despite having installed a new one)
If the magenta prints, then you know the magenta cartridge is good.
If the magenta prints but the black doesn't, then you have a printer failure.

Well, first off, are the alignment, and nozzle check sheets looking good? If not, then work on that. If so, then we have a problem. Try creating a test sheet in Word. Make red, yellow blue & black text and see if anything else prints wrong. Get back to me!
