Port Forwarding is explained indeepth by the torrent companies help FAQs section,

Heres a link that may helps you too....

http://www.fixya.com/support/r4582466-set_up_speed_touch_5x6v6_broadband_modem

In the Admin function you can accept the ports if you have the correct servers address's
You must add them to your firewalls permission settings and then try the test again,

Note ,

Even with Port Forwarding set up,
you will also require the correct band width and downloader from the torrent site,
ie,
Bit Comet and Bitcomet Excelerator

The downloader and the high speed function, together.

Hope this helps,Misterdj

> 100 Kb/second [using] browser

Web-servers, such as the one hosting 'www.HowToTell.com',
are designed to give fast download speeds.

> BitTorrent ... 2-3Kb/second

When you are downloading, you are connecting to other people's "home" computers. Typically, their ISPs (Internet Service Providers) limit the speed of "uploading" (going "out" from those home computers) to a value about 1/8 of the "downloading" (going "into" those home computers) speed. That is "Strike One".

So, if multiple BitTorrent users are simultaneously "leeching" some files from the _same_ home-computer, that computer's speed-per-user is going to be very limited. That is "Strike Two".

Also, BitTorrent has been programmed to discourage "leechers" -- those who download to their computers, but who do not offer to "share" any content. So, being "behind" a router, your computer is being "blocked" from allowing people to "upload" (from your computer) and download (into their computer) any content. That is "Strike Three".

Login to the web-server on your router, and enable and configure "port-forwarding", to allow others (including the "Copyright Police" who monitor BitTorrent for violation of copyright law) to access your computer. (Violate copyright, and pay a big fine, and maybe go to jail.)

Hangs with Bittorrent

That is because you need to open a port on router with the same number assigned to your torrent client.

You need to check port number on bittorrent configuration, then access router control panel typing router IP on internet explorer address bar and configure the router to open the port.

How to port forward huawei e220 usb modem to bittorrent.

unfortunately the download speed of the e220 are really bad I know I had it .then i upgraded to the e180 and it has 7.2 Mbs and is great for bittorent if thats what you wanted to forward ports for . But you can't portforward with either but for the e180 you get great speeds even without the portforwarding eg bittorent downloads at 180- 200 Kilobytes per second . Hope that clarified it for you

Problem with opening ports

I had the same problem, where I thought I needed to open the ports on my Wireless-G (for bittorrent downloads). Turns out, I had to open the ports on my DSL modem instead. After that, the port forwarding worked properly.

Hope this helps - please remember to rate :)

Port forwarding

hi there,
this is a basic step used to forward ports to your system.
Port Forwarding Steps for Routers 1. Log into your router. Usually the URL is http://192.168.1.1/, and enter the username , and the password . If you have never set a password, the password (which you should change) is admin. Consult the manual if you have never set up your router before or need to reset the password. 2. Click on the "Applications & Gaming" tab or Under Advanced, click Port Forwarding.
3. Click on the "Port Range Forward" tab .
4. In the "application" field, type "web" (if you are forwarding wb traffic on port 80) or "torrent" (if you are forwarding bittorrent traffic on port 40156). This is just a "nickname" so that you can recognize what you were trying to do when you come back to it.
5. In the "Start" field, enter: 80
6. In the "End" field, also enter: 80
7. Set "Protocol" to TCP. Web and Bittorrent servers use only TCP, so there's no reason fo forward UDP traffic too and create an unnecessary security risk.
8. In the "IP Address" field, enter: 192.168.1.11 or your system IP address.
9. Click "Save Settings." Forwarding should begin immediately.
