How is parental controls possible to work when you never put it onto your computer? I'm getting constant blocks from sites that shouldn't even be blocked, plus i never set up Parental Control onto my computer.

If you or nobody else has changed anything on your computer then you might have a mal-ware problem, and your PC might be infected with some kind of malicious mal-ware. Are you sure that it is parental controls blocking your PC?

I can't use the Parental Control function. After clicking "Add New PCP" a blank window just flashes on the screen without anything to put an input to. Cliking "Apply" does nothing. Clicking "Back" exits...

It may not actually have that ability, even though it shows up on the settings. The manual for that router doesn't actually mention anything about parental controls, and the manual usually tells you how to set them up. Here is another option: you can use OpenDNS to set up parental controls on any router. To do this, you'll just need to change your router's DNS server settings to use OpenDNS. OpenDNS allows you to set up an account and configure web filtering - you can select different types of categories of websites to block. Websites you block will redirect to a "This site is blocked" message when visited on your network.

I want to unblock my badoo and facebook site om my pc

Step 1:
Block and unblock internet sites using your macintosh computer. It is easy to set up, and easy to change. Follow these steps to determine what type of blocking you want to use, how to set it up, and how to unblock sites in the future.

DECIDE WHAT YOUR GOAL REALLY IS IN BLOCKING SITES. Be clear about this up front so you can find the best solution. Is this blocking for you? Is it for your kids? Is it to keep employees off of certain sites? Answer these questions first before stabbing in the blocking-sites-darkness. To block certain types of sites for all users on a computer or system - use OpenDNS.com, see step 2.

To block specific sites one at a time use the terminal command in Step 3.
To log (rather than block) specific sites use covenanteyes.com see Step 4.
To only ALLOW certain sites use the parental controls option, see Step 5. USE FREE OPEN DNS TO BLOCK CERTAIN TYPES OF SITES FOR ALL USERS. This is a great option for small businesses or households with agreed upon and uniform standards for internet usage. See the link Below. http://opendns.com/ Go to the site (see resource link near the bottom of this page). Click on the 'start using open dns' button. Choose whether you want the blocking to occur at the computer level, the router level, or the server level. Follow the step by step instructions. They have pictures... it really is simple. Best of all, it is FREE! b> TO BLOCK SPECIFIC SITES USE THE TERMINAL COMMAND IN MACOSX TO BLOCK THEM ONE AT A TIME. Few people really want to block only one or two sites. This is a wieldy way to provide internet security. But if that is your specific need this is for you. Another ehow article gives the detailed instructions (it's a bit technical) for this process. So it is linked both in the related articles to the right titled 'How to block access to websites in MacOS X' and in the resource link section at the bottom. TO LOG EVERYTHING YOUR COMPUTERS VIEW, USE COVENANT EYES. This program will log and score every site that is viewed by a computer on which it is installed. It will not allow the internet to run if it is disabled and will send you an alert if it is uninstalled. You set the preferences as to how often to receive reports. Go to covenanteyes.com and click the 'sign up now' button. It will guide you through the process. For around $8 a month this is a relatively cheap option that covers up to three computers. TO ONLY ALLOW CERTAIN SITES USE PARENTAL CONTROLS. If you are using the Leopard system then you can use the 'Parental Controls' feature found in System Preferences. Click on accounts. Check the box for parental controls. You can click on the content tab and then tick limit access to adult sites. You can also use button to add specific criteria to your block. Alternatively, simply add the specific sites you want allowed to the bookmark bar and type in your administrator's password. Then only those sites can be viewed. TO UNBLOCK SITES ON A MAC. To remove parental controls simply return to the systems preference, accounts, then parental controls section. Un-click the parental control box. Un-click any content specific controls. To remove open dns.com simply drag the program folder from applications into the trash. Isn't Mac great?

If you worked at the router or server level you will have to undo those steps and reconfigure your system to allow direct access to the internet. To uninstall covenant eyes you need the password to get an uninstall code. It cannot happen late at night.

On my wife's computer the yahoo web site is blocked by www.hostup.net. It has not allow her to access the site or any parts of it such as email or the yahoo help desk. I have acquired limited access...

Web sites can be blocked by your browser, add-ons to your browser, or browsers that are able to
use WinVista's and Win7's Parental Controls features.

The Firefox browser will block web sites under two conditions: (1) a parental control
add-on is installed (there are 17 parental control add-ons as of this writing), or (2) Firefox will use
Windows Parental Controls as defined by the sysadmin in WinVista or Win7.

In Internet Explorer V.6, individual sites can be ALLOWed or BLOCKed by using
Tools > Internet Options > Privacy (tab) > Sites (button)

I want block 2 site so plz send mail.

You need to access the Setup page of Dlink DIR 300 wireless router:
1. Use a working computer that is hard wired to the router.
2. Open a Web Browser (IE, Firefox etc.) on the computer.
3. In the address bar of the browser type http://192.168.0.1 and press Enter.
4. When the login window appears, set the user name to admin and leave the password box empty. Click OK to continue.
(Note: If you setup your own Usename and Password on your router please use those info to login instead of using the default)
You will then see the Setup page of the router.
5. CLick on the ADVANCED tab.
6. On the left side of the screen Click on Parental Control.
7. On the "Configure Parental Control below: " select the option "Turn Parental Control ON and DENY computers access to ONLY these sites".
8. ON the "Website URL" tyoe in the website that you want to block
9. Click on the Save settings button.

Once completed then the sites you entered are completely denied and blocked on your router.

Hi everytime I try to log onto onlinewatchmovies.net, it comes with 403 forbidden error, saying I don't have permission to access the website. Please advise on what is my solution. It was working fine 2...

does onlinewatchmovies need any login accounts?
If yes, then perhaps you dont have access of it anymore. The admin may have disabled your account.

Another possibility is the site is doing some upgrades and some accounts were deleted or have not yet been placed back.

Or another possibility is that your system is blocking the IP of onlinewatchmovies. perhaps there is some parental control being implemented in your system.

There is really alot of possibilities. I wish that you could expound further on the problem. like changes you have done in some of the internet settings on your computer or if you have other programs running on the back that blocks your access to any sites

Dad blocked facebook with firewall netgear and parent control hel

It is time for you to turn negotiator. Sounds to me like your Dad would like you to spend some quality time doing something else. If you can get your father to compromise on how much time you can spend on the computer each day or to agree to do some other items(chores perhaps?) then perhaps he will let you do facebook for 30 minutes or an hour each day. Your dad sounds like a guy with some computer skills. Some routers will allow a program or website to be blocked for certain hours. He could set the time frame that you could get onto facebook in case you forgot the time. lots of possibilities there but the key is communication with Dad.
