Only way to do this is to put a video card in the computer
or
the video itself on the computer first
then play thru your monitor.

If you got a good monitor then
get a good video card too..........

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to use monitor to TV monitor

If you wish to use your TV as a monitor for your PC then it will all depend on what video out your PC has, and what display ports your TV has.
The Best is HDMI, this will transfer audio and video.
If you only have VGA sockets then you can only transfer video.
You can buy cables from many places, have a look on amazon

CAN I HOOK MY TOSHIBA SATELLITE P15 S420 LAPTOP UP TO MY LCD TV?

Well bud it actualy depends on the TV that you are using.
Some TV's do not accept the signal form the NB.
try to use a different TV and after connecting it to ur TV press and hold on the FN key and tap on F5 to transfer the display to the TV.

Need to hook up laptop to TV

If you have an HDMI port you might also have an RGB port, use your tv video source button and go through your options. If RGB option is listed you have it. It's a standard moniter port, you can use a standard monitor cable to hook things up. This will not however carry sound so you'll need a basic 3.5mm size cable that ends in an RCA plug (can be picked up radio shack.

I use this method to watch hulu.com movies on my 50" plasma tv.

Another option if you have an "S" video on both the laptop and the tv, use that with just an "S" video cable.

Other wise look for a RGB cable that converts to standard RCA stereo plugs again Radio Shack should be able to help you. You can also buy cables on eBay a lot cheaper then a retail store.

I have a dell precision m60 and I want to hook it up to my hitachi 55 plasma tv Ive tried to do this via s-video without success

Trying to hook up your computer to the tv? Or the monitor to the tv? Anyways, you can't hook up the monitor to the tv to see the same thing on both. But for the computer to the tv, connect the s-video cable to the tv from the computer, and you have to press (on the computer) ctrl+alt+F2 or ctrl+alt+F1 it's different for some computers. But if that's what you tried to do, that's the way you do it.

Anyways, hope this helps.

Try to connect tv as a monitor

Does the desktop have an S-video output on its video card? If it does, you only have to get either an S-video cable and hook it up from the computer to the TV, or get an S-video cable plus an S-Video to composite adapter, and hook it up.

For the video card to output to S-Video, you may need to fiddle with something in the control panels, or unplug the regular monitor and reboot (at least on my NVidia 5600 cards, this forces the card into using the S-Video output).

Personally I think you will be very disappointed. Using normal computer applications while using your TV as a monitor will be basically impossible; the text will be too small and blurry. Web browsing on picture-and-headline type pages will be OK, but everything else? Instant headache. Most applications that are designed to be accessed via a TV screen instead of a TV monitor have huge font sizes and lots of contrast (cf. the TiVo's interface, for example); they're designed much differently than desktop apps. You may want to look into screen-magnification apps to make it easier on your eyes.

regards,

hope
