If it is second hand ,just format it without a password, all data will be removed when you do this.

good luck

Cannot remember password need to rest it on ECOR264-4D2

On some DVR's you can reset the password by downloading .bin files from the manufactures website onto a thumb drive. I've done it for other models just not Everfocus. It's pretty simple if you can get access to those files. After you have them on the thumb drive you power down the device, plug in the thumb drive, the device scans the thumb drive and resets your password back to default, hope that helps!

Forgot password

pc-reset.com they support a floppy, thumb drive or cd. It costs about 49.95 for a lifetime license. It is worth it , it works like a charm. only one I have ever found to work.

I bought this laptop from someone I barely knew and I didn't know it was locked until I tried to download something and it asked for an administrative password. I never knew that password so I cannot do...

The best solution is to reinstall the Laptop, to have a fresh and clean system.
Another solution would be booting from the installation CD/DVD (like Windows XP, Windows 7) and recover the settings to reset the Adminstrator password.

I have purchased, and (unfortunately the packaging is trashes... for use) a Verbatim 8 Gig Flash Drive which now appears to be incompatible (useless?) for my older computer systems Microsoft Windows 2000...

Newer high-end flash drives will often trigger a network security response because they want to load a driver onto your machine...and many network systems will not allow that without a network administrator password. So...I suspect it's not the drive asking for the password, but Windows or OS-X.

You'll probably need to talk to your network administrator on this one.

Hope that's helpful.

How do I download the information onto my computer that I stored in my thumb drive? Does it have to be the same drives? I.e., drive to drive?

In almost all cases, if you are using a standard version of Windows, it should go like this:
1 - insert the jump drive (thumb drive)
2 - wait for the bells of recognition - bad news if there is no tone announcing the connection!
3 - once recognized, your Windows should open a small window which asks you exactly how you want to work with the thumb drive. One of the options might be to use it as an Explorer type of window for copying files, etc.
4 - select that type of use, and you should be able to copy files back and forth, as you would from any other drive to your C or D drive, etc.

HITACHI HARD DRIVE LOCKED

Hello Oldnovii
This Toshiba notebook has both a BIOS and hard drive lock on it. The client has already paid $ 25 to the Toshiba depot to have the BIOS lock removed now they want $ 100 to remove the hard drive lock. The hard drive lock cannot be removed by trying to bypass it using a boot cd or disabling the hard drive boot option in the BIOS. Any help will be appreciated since my client has now had the notebook for 2 weeks and cannot use it. Thanks

USB/MTP device

The real issue here is Digital Rights Management (DRM).
Most purchased MP3/WMA/AAC songs are protected by a DRM license.
The only players that can play it are those 1) capable of handling the type of DRM and 2) registered with the correct DRM license.
That's why I only buy music through Amazon.com, because the music is not DRM protected, and you can just copy it to your USB thumb drive or any player you own. I do this all the time with a Pioneer car receiver that has USB capability. Works fine.
